News reports have come in that state online poker rooms in Nevada and Delaware may be joined to give players, a larger gaming space, as well as more ease in playing. Both states have a legalized online gaming market.

Nevada gambling regulators have already given a preliminary approval for a system to link online poker sites, for a larger player pool, in order to make legalized playing an attractive option.

Legal poker accounts for a small part of Nevada’s overall gambling revenue. In May 2013, three sites pooled in $862,000, while the state’s land based casinos brought in $970 million.

The new enhanced poker portal would include WSOP, run by Caesars Interactive Entertainment Inc, MGM Resorts International’s Treasure Island casino and a separate 888 online poker room, connected to Treasure Island. The proposal calls for linking players from a planned online poker site, where players would be able to enter the same poker room, no matter where they may have logged in from, be it WSOP or the Treasure Island site.

The network to make this happen would be operated by the 888 Holdings PLC and would be a model for a system connecting players from the two states, mentioned the Gaming Control Board on Wednesday. The unanimously approved plan is slated to go before the Nevada Gaming Commission on July 24.

For Nevada, a network provides more gaming taxes due to greater product attractiveness and player participation,” said Attorney Yehoshua Gurtler, representing 888, adding that the move would increase the revenue to the state.
