After three starting flights and a further two days of action thereafter, the 2018 Seneca Fall Poker Classic $1,000 Main Event crowned a champion in Canadian pro Victor Adams (cover image). Adams topped a field of 249 entries to win the top prize of $53,853.

This is Adams’ best live tournament score till date. In September this year he finished seventh in the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) C$2,200 NLHE High Roller at Playground Kanhawake for $23,210.

He came into the final day as the shortest stack but scored a crucial double up through Tim Vance to get going. Taking on from there, Adams kept the momentum going all the way till the heads-up play where he defeated Chris Meyers to claim victory.

Three starting flights saw a number of known regulars enter the event and among the notables who posted a score at the event were Mario Mansour (12th for $4,176), Barry Kruger (13th for $3,077), Jason “Big Bird” Sagle (21st for $2,198), Veerab Zakarian (22nd for $1,846), David Olshan (23rd for $1,846), Budwey Salhab (25th for $1,670) and Day 2 chipleader Amandeep “AJ” Taheem (26th for $1,670).

Day 2 Recap

45 survivors came back on Day 2 and the nine-handed final table was reached midway through the day. Two eliminations later, the seven finalists were bagging their stacks one last time.

Action then kicked off at the nine-handed final table that saw its first casualty in Steven Calvaneso (9th for $4,945) followed by Maximilian Droege (8 th for $6,154).

Play was halted for the day with Mancini bagging the overnight chip lead with a massive 2,010,000 in chips, with Alex Visbisky (1,367,000) and Vadim Rozin (1,359,000) following him as the next big stacks. Adams had only an average stack of 451,000 as Day 2 closed out.

Alex Visibisky, who had started out as second in chips, lost a big pot early into play and then found himself all-in and at risk with ace-four suited against Rozin’s dimes that improved to a three-of-a-kind on the turn.

Tim Vance had entered the final day with an average stack but improved to take the lead at one point. He was eliminated by Adams, who held pocket tens, against his ace-jack. The flop fell and Vance stood up saying, “It’s been a pleasure gentleman.” The on the turn gave Vance hope but the on the river ensured it was over for Vance, who left in fifth place.
