Valentin Vornicu Wins Eighth WSOP Circuit Gold Ring in Bicycle Casino Event 12

The 2016 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit at the Bicycle Casino saw another record with Valentin Vornicu (cover image) winning his eighth gold ring in the final event for $17,255.

The same stop had Antonio Esfandiari win his first gold ring in the Main Event.

Vornicu is now tied with Chris Reslock and Ari Engel, both who claimed their eighth gold rings at the recently concluded WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Atlantic City, in Event 1, $365 NLH and Event 7, $580 NLH respectively. The three are right behind Alex Masek, who holds the record for the most Gold Rings with nine wins.

Vornicu overcame 115 runners in the Event12, $580 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo Reentry, beating Yaacov Haviv in heads up. The winner told reporters after claiming the ring, “I want to be that guy that has the most rings. It’s up there on my priority list.”
