The 2019 Triton Poker High Roller Series Jeju finally returned to the full deck with Event #3: HK$500K Six-Max. The event drew in the biggest field at the series yet with a total of 81 entries, including 32 re-entries, generating HK$ 38,070,000 in the prize pool. Malaysia’s Michael Soyza (cover image) bested the field to capture his maiden Triton title along with his career-best score of HK$11.15 Million (US$ 1.45 Million).

Soyza broke his hand two weeks ago while snowboarding in Japan, but even that couldn’t stop the Malaysian pro from bringing his A-game to the final table. With total live earnings of US$5,037,564, Soyza is placed fifth on the Malaysia All-Time Money List.

Talking about his win, Soyza stated in the post-event interview, “Feels pretty good. It’s nice to win something. You just play your hands and hopefully it works out well. Win flips, you know. That’s how you do it.”

“Thankfully it was short,” Soyza said of the heads-up battle against eventual runner-up Sam Greenwood. “Sam’s a good player so I’m just lucky I had a good spot. I decided to take it and it worked out pretty well.”

Tong Siow Choon (8th for HK$1,439,000) and Stanley Choi (9th for HK$1,100,000) were the only two players who finished in the money but failed to reach the final table.
