The just-concluded Triton Poker High Roller Series Jeju saw some of the biggest high rollers in action this past week at the Landing Casino in Shinhwa World Resort, Jeju. The series kicked off on March 2 and closed out on Saturday where the stop`s Main Event crowned a winner in Canada’s Timothy Adams (cover image). Adams struck a heads-up deal with Bryn Kenney to take home the biggest cheque at the stop worth a whopping HK$27,760,500* (~$3.54 Million), while Kenney took the runner-up prize worth HK$24,039,500 (~$3.06 Million).

The Main Event got underway on March 7 and attracted 38 entries (includes 16 re-entries), with each entry worth HK$2 Million (~$255K) that helped built HK$90,204,000 in prize money.

For Adams. this victory brought him his career`s best finish till date. His previous best score dates back to the 2017 Asian Championship of Poker (ACOP), Macau (HK$100K NLHE Super High Roller – $995,635). Adams certainly seems to be on a winning streak this year with two major titles already under his belt. He had previously won the $50K Single-Day High Roller at the 2019 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA).

“It feels really good. I’m really tired right now, three really gruelling days of poker. The field was really tough. The best players in the world were in the field”, Adams said. “To win, it feels amazing. I obviously had to run very, very good, as I think most people have to to win a poker tournament. I’m thrilled that it’s me.”

Adams only had praise for Kenney. “I’ve been playing against Bryn since I was 19 or something, and now I’m 32. We’ve tons of experience, he’s an amazing player. To win, it feels amazing. I obviously had to run very, very good, as I think most people have to, to win a poker tournament. I’m thrilled that it’s me.”

Final Table Recap

Adams entered the final table as the chip leader though it was Kenney seen delivering blow after blow and he scored the first knockout in the very first hand on the final table, scalping Isaac Haxton with his pocket kings reigning over the latter’s ace-nine.

Next, Peter Jetten busted David Peters out in fifth place holding king-ten from the big blind against Peters’ ace-three. Jetten flopped a king and Peters failed to catch up. “I’d been short for a while, so to squeak into the money and then get one more pay jump at the final table, I can’t be too upset with it,” Peters said, on his run.

It took another two hours to bring play down three-handed. It was Kenney once again who did the damage by taking out Peter Jetten’s flopped top pair on a board with pocket kings.

Dan Smith then ran his into Kenney’s and saw no help coming from the board. His elimination in third place left only Kenney and Adams in the race for the title.

Down to the heads-up, Bryn Kenney held 6.31 Million, marginally ahead of Adams’ 5.69 Million. It did not take these two old-timers, who have known each for ages, to strike an ICM deal. Based on the negotiations, Kenney locked up HK$24,039,500 and Adams was assured HK$23,760,500, with HK$ 4 Million (~$500K) and the trophy left in play. A major hand then played out that saw Adams winning a massive 6.2 Million at one go. He finally locked up the title when Kenney made a hero call with on a board of only to see Adams hit a queen-high flush.
