Headlining the series will be the Main Event scheduled from August 9-12 with a buy-in of ₱55,000 and ₱20 Million GTDalong with the Saturday SuperStack event to be held from August 11-12. Players winning the aforementioned events will each take home a coveted PSPC platinum pass that is valued at $30,000 to the Bahamas for the PokerStars Players NLHE Championship (PSPC) in January 2019.

Back home, the excitement is all set to escalate as a number of Indian pros are ready to jump into the popular live series – the Adda52 powered Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) that will be held onboard Casino Deltin Royale in Goa from July 26 onwards. The DPT is returning after a hiatus of three months and will run for four days featuring a total of five events headlined by the ₹1 Crore guaranteed ₹35K Main Event.

The online felts were heavy-duty and certainly bloated up the bankrolls of many players through a week that saw a flurry of high value tournaments. But the showstopper this week was Rohit ‘ChubbyGhost’ Begwani, who won The MoneyMaker ₹1 Crore GTD on India’s most trusted poker site PokerBaazi that saw a massive participation of 609 unique players, creating a prize pool of ₹1.16 Crores. Begwani won the massive first-place prize money worth ₹29.65 Lakhs and for this he is our “PokerGuru Star of the Week”.

PokerStars India continues to offer massive overlays and headlining the winners list was Sandeep ‘effuno007’ Varma R S, who took down the Sunday Special ₹25 Lakhs GTD for ₹4.56 Lakhs.

Adding further impetus to live action, World Poker Tour (WPT) announced the second edition of WPT India to be held at Deltin Royale Casino in Goa from November 13-19 in partnership with Adda52.

In other major developments, PokerStars introduced a new feature to limit multi-tabling to six tables on trial basis in Italy, the Stars Group was asked to withhold the announced merger of PokerStars with Skybet after the British watchdog Competition And Markets Authority (CMA) put a spanner in the works and took the merger under scrutiny.

Meanwhile, partypoker released the schedule for the 2018 Caribbean Poker Party (CPP) and also welcomed its new brand ambassador, Scottish PLO specialist Ludovic Geilich on-board.

There were other positive developments from different parts of the world as well. Even as nine of the 12 operational casinos in Pennsylvania applied for online gambling licenses, Swedish government brought in modifications of its gaming laws allowing players to compete on international sites and Japanese House of Representatives aka Diet approved the pending Integrated Casino Resorts Bill that will pave the way for setting up of an integrated gambling complex in the Island nation.
