Team India All Set to Take Las Vegas by Storm as the 50th WSOP Kicks Off

It’s finally here! The 50th World Series of Poker (WSOP) commenced yesterday with a Charity Poker Tournament organized in honor of the deceased Canadian poker pro Gavin Smith. The $200 NLHE tournament was rake free, with 50% of all entries and re-entries going to ‘The Gavin Smith Trust’. Later today, the first bracelet event of 2019 WSOP – $500 Casino Employees Event – will kick off.

Attending this mega poker series is the largest-ever contingent of Indian players – veterans and newbies, established names and rising stars – all of the most renowned names from the domestic circuit will be present at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. While some players have already reached the ultimate poker destination, many others are on their way. The energy among the Indian battalion is palpable and is most evident on various social media platforms that have been buzzing with updates as players just can’t wait to share their experiences with railbirds and loved ones back home!

One of the events to watch out for at the opening week of the series will be the BIG 50 – $500 No-Limit Hold ‘em. With four starting flights, the BIG 50 offers a guaranteed prize pool of $5 Million – all for a $500 buy-in. Moreover, the eventual champion is expected to collect a colossal payday worth $1 Million. With such a lucrative deal on offer, the event is sure to attract a massive number of players, including the entire Indian contingent present in the desert city. The event is scheduled to begin on May 30 at 11 AM (Pacific Time Zone) so stay tuned for updates!
