Now that most, if not all, of our Indian challengers, have returned home from their World Series of Poker (WSOP) escapade, the online domestic felts are heating up with high-octane action.

One of the headline winners this past Sunday was PokerStars India Team pro – Aditya Agarwal. With over $4 Million in tracked online cashes, Agarwal has time and again proved that he is arguably India’s best online MTT player. Last Sunday, he showed yet again why he is one of the best in the business by taking down the Sunday Special – Progressive KO ₹15 Lakhs GTD on a platform that he endorses. This win comes as a good confidence booster for Agarwal who had just returned from a slightly dry WSOP outing. Though he was one of the early birds at the series and, as usual, played the full schedule; however, he managed only three cashes. His most notable score this summer was in the Main Event where he scored for a record eighth time, further closing the gap between Berry Johnston’s 10 cashes record. Before making his 14th consecutive appearance at the WSOP this summer, Agarwal had been in sublime form on the virtual felts. He shipped the High Roller ₹12 Lakhs GTD twice – for ₹2.42 Lakhs in January and then for ₹2.08 Lakhs in May. Yesterday, Agarwal championed a 285 strong-entry field in the Sunday Special and ultimately bested veteran pro Sumit ‘mrgr33n33’ Sapra heads-up to clinch the title, along with ₹3.05 Lakhs in prize money.

Just as Agarwal won big on PokerStars India, another premier online poker site, PokerBaazi, crowned a champion in Rohit ‘Kudos0505’ Behal in its signature Sunday tournament, the Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD. Staying true to its past trend, the event yet again smashed it’s the guarantee to collect ₹26.60 Lakhs in the prize pool. Behal has become an online regular and has been consistently running deep on the online felts. He registered two noteworthy wins late last year – The Monster 6-Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.23 Lakhs in September and the BSS Megastack ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.10 Lakhs in November. Behal outlasted 532 entries (301 unique and 231 re-entries) last night, banking ₹5.16 Lakhs in the process.

Along with Agarwal and Behal, many other regulars championed events last night. Well-known online players Rajat ‘LungFakeer’ Sharma (The Monster ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1. 31 Lakhs) and Sameer ‘Killersam’ Tavanandi (BSS MegaStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.20 Lakhs) were among the big winners on PokerBaazi, while the lesser-known Prince NaNki Singh (BSS PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹54,404) and masid (Sunday ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹17,500), rounded out the list of champions on India’s most trusted poker site.

Meanwhile, ‘AstheticPoker’ (Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹38,959), Rohit Cru$h3d Sinha (Sunday Warm-Up ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹29,918), Apratim HUSTLER.0081 Chatterjee (Sunday Supersonic ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹22,943) and bettingkingg (Sunday Storm ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹18,841) shipped the other high-value tournaments on PokerStars India.

While the “PokerGuru”, Aditya Agarwal, was among the top winners last Sunday, his mentees weren’t far behind. Headlining the list of scores registered by Team PokerGuru was Arjanveer Singh Chadha. The up-and-coming player has over the past few months become one of the most recognizable names on the virtual felts ever since he has come under Agarwal’s mentorship. Chadha picked up scores in both the BSS SuperStack (18th for ₹26,600) on PokerBaazi, as well as the Sunday Special (5th for ₹46,344) on PokerStars India. He also missed the final table by a whisker in PokerStars India’s Sunday Warm-Up, finishing 11th for ₹2,979.

Other Team Ambassadors who picked up multiple scores last Sunday were Nadeem Basha, Rony Chowdhury, and Devrat Arya.

Basha scored in the Sunday Special (15th for ₹20,843), The Monster 6- Max (3rd for ₹59,472) and BSS MegaStack (14th for ₹7,250). Chowdhury cashed in the Sunday Special (37th for ₹5,553), BSS MegaStack (10th for ₹8,800) and Sunday Stars (9th for ₹5,471). Arya finished ITM in Sunday Special (6th for ₹39,413), BSS MegaStack (17th for ₹6,150) and Sunday Warm-Up (27th for ₹1,983).

Moreover, Mithun ‘thepokeraja’ Mahesh (4th for ₹1.72 Lakhs), Faiz AilaGaya Alam (10th for ₹38,038) Ashish OMG_spew Munot (15th for ₹30,856) and Laksh boomtilt23 Pal Singh (30th for ₹15,960) posted scores in the BSS SuperStack. Shashank ‘indianrat’ Desai (7th for ₹21,952) posted a deep run in The Monster 6- Max.

Fast-growing online poker site, Khelo365, declared winners in ‘shatsy93’ (Big Bang 1 Lakh GTD for₹43,000) and Rughani (Deep Stack ₹40K GTD NLHE for ₹17,200), last night.
