Even as the Indian contingent in Las Vegas continues to impress, the online sphere too has been brimming with activity. Premier online poker site, PokerBaazi’s signature Sunday tournament, the Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD attracted 468 entries last night and crowned a champion in online phenom Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood, who banked ₹5.02 Lakhs for his victory.
Sood wasn’t the only big winner on PokerBaazi, this past Sunday. Aditya ‘eatingseeds’ Degala trounced a field of 183 entries in The Monster 6 Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD, pocketing ₹1.24 Lakhs in the process. Meanwhile, Anmol ‘anzzzzz’ Mehta championed the BSS Megastack ₹5 Lakhs GTD and bagged a hefty payday of ₹1.24 Lakhs.
‘Kalibaba’ (BSS PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.34 Lakhs), ‘Incognito’ (Weekly Super 5 ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹77,950) and ‘thumkhi’ (Sunday ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹18,100) were the winners of the other two signature Sunday events on PokerBaazi.
PokerStars India had a small overlay to fill in its Sunday flagship event – Sunday Special – Progressive KO ₹15 Lakhs GTD – which pulled in 258 entries yesterday. ‘RateDocter’ defeated Vinayak ‘koi.toh.rok.lo’ Bajaj heads-up, netting ₹2.85 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Bajaj received ₹1.85 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
The other events on PokerStars India’s Sunday roster were won by ‘GutshotHaiBro’ (The Classic ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹66,718), Yash ‘hasyY@$#116’ Shrivastava (Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹43,687) and ‘bunts12’ (Sunday Supersonic ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹24,341).
Team PokerGuru came out all guns blazing this Sunday! On PokerBaazi, Nadeem ‘Spadehunter’ Basha (12th for ₹36,750) and Gokul ‘Nygma’ Raj (29th for ₹15,500) picked up scores in the BSS SuperStack, while Jayjit ‘England’ Ray finished fourth for ₹44,700 in the BSS PLO.
Three PokerGuru Ambassadors, namely, Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam (5th for ₹31,150), Ashutosh ‘senojwod’ Balodhi (6th for ₹24,900) and Rony ‘bisadip176’ Chowdhry (7th for ₹20,700) final tabled The Monster 6 Max, whereas Mithun ‘thepokerraja’ Mahesh (21st for ₹5,550) also posted a deep run. In BSS Megastack, Tathagata ‘Tintin84’ Sengupta (6th for ₹24,900) was seen making it into the final table.
