Sundays are undoubtedly one of the most awaited days of the week for poker players all across the globe, with online poker sites everywhere offering some of their biggest tournaments of the week. This past Sunday was no different.

PokerBaazi’s Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD has for long been one of the most popular events on the Sunday online schedule, and yet again it pulled in a massive field of 597 entries (353 unique and 244 re-entries) smashing the guarantee with the final prize pool collection touching ₹29.85 Lakhs. Yogi Raj ‘Yogiraj’ Singh, a regular at PokerBaazi, who more notably finished runner-up in last week’s BSS PLO ₹5 Lakh GTD for ₹77,200, championed this event, clinching a massive payout of ₹5.25 Lakhs in the process.

Singh wasn’t the only player to win big in the BSS SuperStack. His heads-up opponent Bibek ‘RamSlam’ Karki also bagged a hefty payout of ₹3.65 Lakhs, while seasoned pro – Raman ‘ifryu’ Gujral finished third for ₹2.54 Lakhs.

Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood is a well-known name on the virtual felts and had an eventful outing on Sunday. He added a total amount of ₹2.55 Lakhs to his bankroll as he final tabled a total of three high-value tournaments on PokerBaazi. He finished fifth for ₹1.23 Lakhs the BSS SuperStack, runner-up for ₹74,951 in the Grinders#33 Main Event and took third place worth ₹56,400 in the BSS PLO.

Giving PokerBaazi`s Sunday special BSS SuperStack a run for its money was PokerStars India’s main attraction – Sunday Special Progressive Knockout ₹25 Lakhs GTD. The global poker brand`s official launch in India was largely lackluster, but PokerStars India has really upped the ante recently with massive marketing spends. Earlier this month PokerStars India signed-on Bollywood actor Nawauddin Siddiqui as its first celebrity brand ambassador and followed this up by running round-the-clock TV commercials on all major networks in the country. The mass marketing mantra seems to be working, and the same is clearly evident in the results. Last week, i.e. March 3, the PokerStars India Sunday Special for the first time crossed the 400-entry field mark as it registered a total field of 424 entries (251 unique and 173 re-entries). This past Sunday, the event witnessed a slight increase in the number of entries as the tournament drew in 430 entries (252 unique and 178 re-entries) proving that the marketing spends are working in PokerStars’ favor. The Sunday Special featured several known names on the final table which included the likes of Xender ‘whosk?d’ Dash (runner-up for ₹3.01 Lakhs), Yash ‘[email protected]$#116’ Shrivastava (4th for ₹1.42 Lakhs) and Deepanshi ‘knightcall’ Tomar (9th for ₹17,128), but it was ‘momstacos’ who eventually took down the event and pocketed ₹4.53 Lakhs in prize money for the win.

PokerGuru Team Ambassadors were also seen cashing in numerous events. Laksh Pal ‘B00MTilt23’ Singh narrowly missed the PokerStars India’s Sunday Special final table and finished 11th for ₹18,920. Meanwhile, Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam posted two scores in BSS PLO (5th for ₹30,100) and The Monster 6-Max (14th for ₹5,785) respectively.

The other big winners on PokerBaazi were Asif ‘Lucid’ Sharif (Grinders #33 Main Event ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.07 Lakhs), ‘TheHungryKid’ (BSS PLO ₹5 Lakh GTD for ₹1.05 Lakhs), Pranav ‘GarviGujarat’ Desai (The Monster 6-Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹99,232) and ‘ajoy94’ (Sunday ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹20,238).

PokerStars India also declared winners in ‘bangbang1999’ (Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹48,682), Hemant ‘314admiral’ Sharma (Sunday Storm ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹26,215) and ‘1747R’ (Sunday Warm-Up ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹25,372).

9stacks’ signature Sunday event, Sunday Stacks, crowned a winner in ‘ThikanaCK’ who collected ₹3.06 in first-place prize money.

‘Pynchon789’ meanwhile had quite the run in the headline Sunday events on the fast-growing site, Khelo 365 where he took down both the Big Splash ₹75K GTD NLHE for ₹32,250 and the Deep Stack ₹30K GTD NLHE for ₹15,180.
