With the live poker scene in Macau going through a phase of decline, other regions in Asia, specifically, Manila, have seen an increase in live tournaments.

On the heels of World Series of Poker (WSOP) confirming the full schedule of its 50th anniversary special series, another global poker giant, PokerStars, yesterday announced the 2019 schedule for the Asia-Pacific region.

Along with the details of two flagship events on the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT), namely APPT Korea and APPT Manila, information regarding two smaller festivals i.e. Okada Millions and Manila Megastack were also released.

Okada Manila Millions

Manila is fast emerging as one of the hottest poker destinations in the Asia-Pacific region and evidencing this is the fact that PokerStars has not one, but two tours lined-up in the Filipino capital.

Before the APPT Manila comes to town, it will be the Okada Manila Millions that will pull in the crowds to its namesake casino from February 5 to 10. The series features 13 events, including the PHP2,500 Main Event which has a PHP 2 Million guarantee. With half a million of the prize money guaranteed for the winner, the event will kick-off on February 6, with the final table commencing on February 10.

Additionally, the PHP3,000 NLH Deepstack event, may also turn out to be a hit among the players due to its PHP200,000 guarantee.
