PokerStars Announces Largest-Ever Play Money Festival With Elite Series

Rejoice all you recreational players, as PokerStars has announced its Elite Series, which has been specifically designed keeping Play Money players in mind!

This largest-ever play money online festival will run from April 9 to 17. The event will feature 40 tournaments with a wide range of buy-ins, in diverse formats and different poker variants.

There will also be two private events that will be open exclusively for Billionaire Club Members!

Buy-ins will range from 50,000 chips to a whopping 450,000,000 for the Elite Series Ultra-High Roller on April 17.

So rich is the offering that real money players are also sure to jump onto the festival, where each day of the series will have a unique theme, with several other innovations lined up.

Theme-Based Days

• High Roller Saturday – Billionaire Club Hold’em Elite, plus three other Hold’em tourneys
• Knockout Sunday – three knock-out events
• Round of Each Monday – three ‘round of each’ tourneys
• Women’s Tuesday – five Hold’em tourneys, four restricted to women players
• Omaha Wednesday – 100,000,000 buy-in Super High Roller and three more Omaha tourneys
• Super-Stack Thursday – four deep stack events, including two high-roller events
• Try a New Game Friday – some Badugi, Stud, and Single-Draw poker
• Hourly Hyper Saturday -Hourly Hold’em tourneys with 10M prize pools, and live leader board with prizes for the top 10 players
• Main Event Sunday – Hold’em Main Event, Ultra-High Roller Hold’em, Hold’em Hyper and Billionaire Club Invitational

Hourly Hyper Saturday

Saturday April 16 will be a challenge worthy of the toughest players with the first “hourly Hyper” day. A total of 15 similar hyper turbo hold’em events will start an hour apart.

As an incentive for making the ungodly hours, PokerStars will add 10 million chips to the events prize pool. Buy-ins for these events will be 60,000 chips and there will also be a special leaderboard and the top 10 finishers in each category will get prizes.

Billionaire Club Invitational

Sunday April 17 will feature the exclusive Billionaire Club Invitational.

There will be two events the Billionaire Club Hold’em Elite on April 9 and the Billionaire Club Omaha Elite on April 13. Both events will be played under a six-max format and will require a buy-in of 10,000,000 play money chips.

Players from these two events final tables will be invited to play the exclusive Billionaire Club Invitational on Sunday, April 17, where they will be joined by four of the most distinguished Team PokerStars players, Barry “barryg1” Greenstein, Chris “money800” Moneymaker, Felix “xflixx” Schneiders, and Andre “acoimbra” Coimbra.

Michael Josem of the PokerStars Communications Team claimed,“This will no doubt be the toughest two tables in play money poker history!”

The Elite Series will offer players at least three events daily, which can be found under the “Tournaments” tab at the PokerStars client.
