Kanav Parwal Takes Down The Endeavour on PokerBaazi For ₹11.17 Lakhs; Gaurav Sood Continues to Dominate PPL Special Edition Leaderboard

It was an action-packed Tuesday on PokerBaazi as five more events of the PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) Special Edition crowned winners. The much-awaited Day 2 of The Endeavour ₹50 Lakhs GTD played out on April 23. Following almost seven hours of play, Kanav ‘sokopa’ Parwal trounced Nishant ‘nishant177’ Sharma heads-up to capture the title, banking a colossal top prize of ₹11.17 Lakhs. Sharma also netted a handsome ₹7.83 Lakhs paycheque for his runner-up finish.

Nikhil ‘blastupinside’ Arora catapulted to the top of a 584-strong entry field in the PPL#13: 6-Max DST ₹15 Lakhs GTD and pocketed ₹4.13 Lakhs for his win.

The other winners on PPL Special Edition Day 3 were Vishal ‘Bhai9’ Marwaha (PPL#12: 5-Max Turbo ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.53 Lakhs), Mohammad ‘chandlerbing’ Azhar (PPL#15: PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.37 Lakhs) and Pranav ‘GarviGujarat’ Desai (PPL#11: SuperStack 8-Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.07 Lakhs).

Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood has been in phenomenal form since the start of the series and has already accumulated ₹9.88 Lakhs in total winnings via six cashes which includes shipping PPL#9: The Bout 8-Max ₹25 Lakhs GTD for ₹5.61 Lakhs. Continuing to display his multi-tabling prowess, Sood final tabled two out of the five PPL events yesterday, namely PPL#13: 6-Max DST ₹15 Lakhs GTD (4th for ₹1.38 Lakhs) and PPL#15: PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD (runner-up for ₹96,063). He also finished 56th in The Endeavour for ₹20,784. Sitting pretty with 3,379 in leaderboard points, Sood is a good way ahead of the competition with his closest competitor – Ankit ‘akj290’ Jajodia a distant second with 2,790 points.

Day 3 of the PPL Special Edition kicked off with the PPL#11: SuperStack 8-Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD and was won by Pranav ‘GarviGujarat’ Desai who outmaneuvered PokerGuru Team Ambassador Rony ‘bisadip176’ Chowdhury (runner-up for ₹75,128) heads-up to collect the title and ₹1.07 Lakhs in prize money.

Arjanveer Singh ‘holdbaby’ Chadha (5th for ₹26,819) and Laksh Pal ‘boomtlt23’ Singh (35th for ₹3,289) were the other PokerGuru Team Ambassadors who cashed.

The third event on PPL’s Tuesday roster was the PPL#13: 6-Max DST ₹15 Lakhs GTD. Attracting a total of 584 entries (264 unique and 320 re-entries), the event generated a prize pool of ₹21.90 Lakhs. Nikhil ‘blastupinside’ Arora ran through a tough field that featured several heavyweights like current PPL leaderboard topper Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood (4th for ₹1.38 Lakhs), online phenom Rubin ‘kornkid’ Labroo (5th for ₹1.03 Lakhs), PokerGuru Team Ambassador Jayjit ‘england’ Ray (6th for ₹83,001), and veteran pros Romit ‘tilt83’ Advani (7th for ₹69,204) as well as Shravan ‘FishStars’ Chhabria (8th for ₹55,188).

Arora squared off against Ankit ‘d00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan in the final showdown and ultimately defeated the latter, pocketing ₹4.13 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Wadhawan bagged ₹2.90 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

PPL#14: Day 2 The Endeavour 50 Lakhs GTD – PokerBaazi

PPL Special Edition’s The Endeavour ₹50 Lakhs GTD was a special event since for the first time this PPL, PokerBaazi increased the guarantee of the event to ₹50 Lakhs while also adopting a multi-day format. Day 1 saw flights 1A and 1B register a humongous field of 1,200 entries (including 549 re-entries) which overshot the guarantee with the total prize pool collection reaching ₹64.95 Lakhs. By the time proceedings for both starting flights wrapped up, only 117 runners advanced to Day 2 – with all players in the money.

Kicking off at 8 PM on April 23, the event finally concluded in the wee hours of April 24 at nearly 3 AM. Kanav ‘sokopa’ Parwal, who most notably had topped Day 1B of The Game Changer ₹2 Crores GTD in February and eventually finished 25th for ₹1.24 Lakhs, claimed the title. He bested a highly decorated final table comprising of Nishant ‘nishant177’ Sharma (runner-up for ₹7.83 Lakhs), PokerGuru Team Ambassador Arjanveer Singh ‘holdbaby’ Chadha (4th for ₹3.75 Lakhs), Dhaval ‘Rehab77’ Mudgal (5th for ₹2.79 Lakhs) and Akshay ‘sherlock52’ Nasa (8th for ₹1.49 Lakhs) and walked away with a hefty payday of ₹11.17 Lakhs for his win.

Apart from Chadha, the other PokerGuru Team Ambassadors who enjoyed a deep run in the event were Shuchi ‘pescatarian8’ Chamaria (47th for ₹24,681), Tathagata ‘Tintin84’ Sengupta (53rd for ₹24,681), Rohit ‘rohit22rm’ Mishra (59th for ₹20,784), Shashank ‘indianrat’ Desai (63rd for ₹20,784) and Laksh Pal ‘boomtilt23’ Singh (75th for ₹16,238).

Mohammad ‘chandlerbing’ Azhar topped 580 entries (262 unique and 318 re-entries) to take down the PPL#15: PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.37 Lakhs. Making his second final table appearance of the night, Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood narrowly missed clinching his second title of the series and finished runner-up for ₹96,063.

PokerGuru Team Ambassadors Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam (21st for ₹6,162) and Vivek ‘Nutpeddling729’ Singh (64th for ₹2,247) were among the 72 runners who finished in the money.
