Gaurav Sood, ‘coldplay12’ & Vikram Kumar Enter the Winners Club on Day 2 of PokerBaazi’s PPL Special Edition

PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) made a smashing return at PokerBaazi on April 21 with the PPL Special Edition. Like its predecessors, this series too offered a bigger than ever ₹5+ Crores in prize money guarantees. The opening day was massively successful for the brand, with The Endeavour ₹50 Lakhs GTD alone pulling in 1,299 entries (including 549 re-entries) from two starting flights.

Monday evening had five PPL events on offer and headlining the list of winners was online beast Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood. The rising poker player has been in stellar form of late with a litany of wins and deep runs to his name which includes topping the 353-strong entry field to win The Bout ₹10 Lakhs GTD on March 12 for ₹2.05 Lakhs. He repeated the feat once again yesterday when he won PPL#9: The Bout 8-Max ₹25 Lakhs GTD for a colossal payday of ₹5.61 Lakhs. Sood also picked up a score in the PPL#10: 8-Max ₹15 Lakhs GTD where he finished third for ₹1.60 Lakhs.

Sood is currently on top of the PPL Special Edition Leaderboard with 2,325 points. He is followed by Ankit ‘akj290’ Jajodia (2,113 points) and Chiraag ‘Versutus’ Patel (1,805 points).

‘coldplay12’ emerged as the champion in PPL#10: 8-Max ₹15 Lakhs GTD and added ₹3.57 Lakhs to his bankroll, while former PokerBaazi Team pro and PokerGuru Staking`s Vikram ‘VikramKumar’ Kumar walked away with the title in the PPL#6 ₹5 Lakhs GTD, securing a payday of ₹1.10 Lakhs.

‘dybalamask’ and ‘BIT00Poker’ won ₹1.20 Lakhs each for placing first in the PPL#7: 7-Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD and PPL#8: DST ₹5 Lakhs GTD, respectively.

PokerGuru Team Ambassadors had an eventful time at the felts on Monday with Arjanveer Singh ‘holdbaby’ Chadha, Laksh Pal ‘boomtilt23’ Singh, Shashank ‘indianrat’ Desai, Mithun ‘thepokeraja’ Mahesh, Rohit ‘rohit22rm’ Mishra, Vivek ‘Nutpeddling729’ Singh, Ashish ‘OMG_spew’ Munot and Jayjit ‘england’ Ray all posting deep runs.

Vikram ‘VikramKumar’ Kumar aka ‘Lungi’ began his Monday PPL proceedings on a winning note by taking down the PPL#6 ₹5 Lakhs GTD. The former PokerBaazi Team pro defeated current Team Pro Maria ‘MariaKirloskar’ Kirloskar (runner-up for ₹77,247) heads-up to walk away with a cash prize worth ₹1.10 Lakhs.

PokerGuru Team Ambassadors Arjanveer Singh ‘holdbaby’ Chadha (5th for ₹22,095) and Laksh Pal ‘boomtilt23’ Singh (8th for ₹14,691), both final tabled the event.

Chirag ‘miyagi’ Sodha missed out on a PPL title yesterday where he finished runner-up to ‘BIT00Poker’ in PPL#8: DST ₹5 Lakhs GTD. Sodha bagged ₹84,540 for his second-place finish.

PokerGuru Team Ambassadors Rohit ‘rohit22rm’ Mishra, Mithun ‘thepokeraja’ Mahesh and Vivek ‘Nutpeddling729’ Singh, all finished in the money. Mishra enjoyed the deepest run among the PokerGuru Staking pros, finishing fourth for ₹40,200, while Mahesh and Singh finished 27th (₹4,260) and 28th (₹3,720) respectively.

The biggest event on PokerBaazi’s Monday roster was PPL#9: The Bout 8-Max ₹25 Lakhs GTD which registered an impressive 594 entries (286 unique and 308 re-entries) that helped generate a prize pool of ₹29.70 Lakhs.

Online regular Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood fought his way to the top of the star-studded final table that comprised of well-known regulars like Nishaanth ‘shanni’ Shanmughasundaram (4th for ₹1.87 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Shashank ‘indianrat’ Desai (5th for ₹1.40 Lakhs), Sahil ‘CairyHunt’ Agarwal (7th for ₹93,852), Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (8th for ₹74,844) and Rajat ‘LungFakeer’ Sharma (9th for ₹56,133). Sood overcame the field and defeated ‘dilbaghsingh’ (runner-up for ₹3.93 Lakhs) heads-up to pocket a handsome payday of ₹5.61 Lakhs.

Besides Desai, several other PokerGuru Team Ambassadors ran deep in the event including Mithun ‘thepokeraja’ Mahesh (11th for ₹41,283), Ashish ‘OMG_spew’ Munot (35th for ₹17,226), Jayjit ‘england’ Ray (54th for ₹12,771), Rohit ‘rohit22rm’ Mishra (59th for ₹10,692) and Arjanveer Singh ‘holdbaby’ Chadha (70th for ₹9,207).

Wrapping up PPL’s Monday line-up of events was PPL#10: 8-Max ₹15 Lakhs GTD. With 490 entries (251 unique and 239 re-entries), the event eclipsed its guarantee with a total prize money collection touching ₹18.37 Lakhs.

‘coldplay12’ emerged the champion and took home ₹3.57 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood was at his multi-tabling best – playing both The Bout 8-Max ₹25 Lakhs GTD and 8-Max ₹15 Lakhs GTD simultaneously. Sood was triumphant in The Bout and came within striking distance of taking down the 8-Max as well, but fell short of the title. He ultimately finished third for ₹1.60 Lakhs. Prince ‘NaNki’ Singh locked in ₹2.50 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

PokerGuru Team Ambassadors Laksh Pal ‘boomtilt23’ Singh (20th for ₹15,986) and Jayjit ‘england’ Ray (49th for ₹8,085) also picked up scores at the event.
