Just a day away from the weekend extravaganza of big guaranteed tournaments, Friday saw a flurry of events that provided us railbirds with some exciting action.

Spartan Poker’s The Elite had the most lucrative guarantee on offer last night, but despite the mouth-watering ₹25 Lakhs GTD, the event could only muster 217 entries (97 unique, 55 re-entries and 65 rebuys) resulting in a substantial ₹3.30 Lakhs overlay. ‘ddege001’ topped the field for a ₹5.91 Lakhs payday.

The other prominent event on Spartan Poker last night was the TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD. Registering 634 entries (292 unique, 113 re-entries and 229 re-buys), this event too failed to meet the number of entries required to surpass its guarantee. ‘TheSharkIsBackk’ shipped the title for ₹1.52 Lakhs.

The other online site struggling with overlays, Adda52 finally found some respite when its Friday flagship event, Whale – 6 Max ₹15 Lakhs GTD, fell just whiskers short of the advertised guarantee. Manish ’manamish’ Yadav championed the field of 216 entries (161 unique and 55 re-entries) to claim a winner’s payday worth ₹4.11 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi’s FRI-YAY ₹10 Lakhs GTD gathered a field of 343 entries (148 unique and 195 re-entries) and Nitin ‘philhermouth’ Arora trounced the competitive player pool, netting ₹2.10 Lakhs in first-place prize money.

Meanwhile, ‘antypanty93’ won PokerBaazi’s Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD for ₹92,736.

PokerStars India’s Uppercut – Progressive KO ₹8 Lakhs GTD logged in 216 entries (107 unique and 109 re-entries) last night. Bengaluru-based player Srihari ‘bangbang99’ Bang who was recently in the spotlight for winning the IOPC Millionaire on Spartan Poker for a career-best ₹48.56 Lakhs, was the last player standing in the event and added a cool ₹1.59 Lakhs to his bankroll. The 20-year-old Bang defeated PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘bhasm@sur1’ Arya heads-up and the latter took home a second-place payout of ₹92,662. Notably, Arya had finished runner-up in PokerBaazi’s Wednesday flagship event – The Vegas – for ₹1.95 Lakhs, making this his second runner-up finish in a major online event this week.

‘i_am_who_knocks’ topped a 194-strong entry field (116 unique and 78 re-entries) in PokerStars India’s Micro Millions – 32: NLHE ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD to take home a top prize of ₹45,565 following a three-way deal.

Ashish ‘teshaTriple7’ Garg took down 9stacks’ signature Friday tournament, StackUp @ 8PM ₹2.50 Lakhs GTD, banking ₹74,880 in the process.

PokerGuru Ambassadors Ashutosh Balodhi, Vishal Bajaj, Nadeem Basha, Vivek Singh, Gokul Raj, and Shashank Desai, also posted deep runs.
