partypoker’s new Team Online has caught the imagination of the entire poker community. Ever since the brand announced the launch of Team Online last month, along with appointing Matt Staples as the first member of the high-profile new squad, partypoker has gone on to include a plethora of big names to its roster. The latest addition to this team will be Matt’s brother and popular Twitch streaming poker professional Jaime Staples (cover image).
Parting Ways With PokerStars
Jaime Staples has made quite a name for himself on Twitch with almost 120,000 followers and had also participated in and won a high-stakes prop bet against Bill Perkins that brought him even more recognition. Staples was signed on by PokerStars in April 2015.
Staples was an integral part of Team PokerStars and had even been a part of PokerStars’ PSPC challenge. Staples had hosted the #MyUltimateSweat Platinum Pass Adventure challenge, which was won by Indian architect and recreational poker player Nikhil Segel.
A day after former Team PokerStars pro Jeff Gross announced his decision to part ways with PokerStars, Staples released his own farewell video on YouTube signifying his departure as well. He also sent out a round of thanks to the folks he had worked with at PokerStars, as well as his fellow team members.
“You made the days awesome. It’s been such a pleasure working alongside you for the past four years,” he said.
“As for the future for me, I’m really excited. It’s a little bit scary but at the same time, I know that if I continue to work hard, and I’m true to what I believe is going to make this game great, everything will work out in the long run.”
Joining partypoker Team Online
After partypoker had announced the launch of Team Online and appointed Matt Staples as its first ambassador, it had been speculated that both Jeff Gross and Jaime Staples may eventually join the squad.
On March 1, partypoker announced on Twitter that Gross had become a part of Team Online. However, he wasn’t the only addition to the team. An abundance of Twitch talent was recruited by partypoker including the likes of Hristivoje Pavlovic, Travis Darroch, Patrick Tardif, Alan Widmann, Ryan Schoonbaert, Courtney Gee, Steven Kok, and Monika Zukowicz.
partypoker yet again took to Twitter to reveal the latest addition to Team Online – Jaime Staples who will be joining the brand on May 4.
