The third day of WSOP Event #59 USD 1.5k NLHE saw a field of 51 reduced to 1 in a matter of less than 6 hours. PokerGuru pro Aditya ‘Intervention’ Agarwal started day 3 of the tournament in 11th position. A wild and woolly first two levels saw 22 players hit the rail in the first couple of hours itself. With 29 remaining, Agarwal rested comfortably in fourth position with 784,000 chips as compared to the chip leader Alex Cordero’s 1,350,000.
The Indian reached his peak in level 22 when at blinds 6k-12k he called from small blind with . On flop of A 7 4 with two diamonds, middle position bets 17k and is check-raised 44k by Agarwal. Middle position called and folded when Agarwal bet 46k on a 7 turn. But it was not to be a dream first bracelet for Agarwal as he was ousted after a series of hands backfired on him. In his final hand, Agarwal open-pushed his stack of about 400,000 from the button and got one caller in Daniel Eichhorn in the small blind. Agarwal had and Eichhorn , and after the five community cards came , Agarwal was out in 19th with a prize money of $20,499. Agarwal will be playing day 1c of the WSOP main event on July 9. “I have never felt more prepared or more focused than I do now,” said Agarwal, who’ll be participating in the WSOP main event for the sixth time.
