Hossein Ensan Ships WSOP Circuit Main Event, Kunal Patni Final Tables WSOP Europe Crazy Eights Event

Live poker action has taken center stage at King’s Casino in Rozvadov that played host to the WSOP Circuit stop from September 28 to October 18. Action continued non-stop at Rozvadov with the presently underway WSOP Europe series that kicked off the next day on October 19 and is slated to run till November 10.

The WSOP Circuit Rozvadov Main Event registered 672 entries and after four days of grueling action it was Germany’s Hossein Ensan who emerged victorious and pocketed €184,812 for his finish.

India’s Kunal Patni got off to a winning start at WSOP Europe Rozvadov with a score in the Crazy Eights event. Patni final tabled the event with a ninth-place finish for €4,264 (~₹3,27,195). The event was eventually won by Germany`s Robert Schulz who banked the €42,165 top prize.

WSOP Circuit Main Event

The headline WSOPC €1,650 Main Event drew a total 672 runners with the top 71 places getting paid. The coveted WSOP Circuit ring was clinched by EPT12 Prague Main Event champion Hossein Ensan who defeated Jan Timo Jobmann in the heads-up battle to win €184,812 in prize money.

53-year-old Ensan completely dominated the final table busting six of his seven opponents and after receiving the WSOPC ring from tournament director Jack Effel he said, “I am happy to be here. That was four days with great players and it was tough. But now I am just very happy.

The 28-year-old runner-up, Jobmann managed to double his career cashes with a payday of €116,444 and later said, “We both got the ticket now, so I’ll see you in the USA. Just let me know and we do something together, let’s rock that tournament and get heads-up again.” Both players also qualify for the WSOPC Casino Championship in 2018 as part of the WSOP Circuit ranking.

The field was full of top notch professionals and those who made money but missed out on the final table action were Carlo Savinelli (12th, for €11,874), two-time WSOP bracelet winner Brandon Cantu (14th, for €10,342), Jaroslaw Sikora (30th, for €5,554), Sander van Wesemael (38th, for €4,788), 14-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth (56th, for €3,639), Georgios Zisimopoulos (58th, for €3,639), former WSOP Circuit Rozvadov champion Mateusz Dziewonski (62nd, for €3,639), Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (69th, for €3,639) and Dorde Jovanovic (70th, for €3,639).

Final Table Recap

High Roller regular from Bulgaria Viliyan Petleshkov became the first casualty of the final table. He got his stack in with ace-queen and was looked up by Ensan who tabled Ace-king. Petleshkov hit a queen on the flop but a king spiked on the turn to send him packing in eighth place.

Israel’s Michael Magalashvili exited next after his ace-eight failed against Ensan’s ace-queen.

Ensan was literally running over the table and he used his lead to rail his third consecutive victim – Viktor Kovachev next. Kovachev moved all-in with ace-nine suited and Ensan looked him up with king-jack suited. Ensan flopped top pair and managed to dodge the flush draw of Kovachev to take down the pot eliminating Kovachev in sixth place.

In the very next hand, Pavel Stolar’s ace-four failed to improve against Jan Timo Jobmann’s pocket sevens.

Down to four-handed action, the fight for the title came down to three Germans and Davit Okropiridze from Georgia, and the latter was incidentally the next one out, making it an all German battle.

Three-handed play lasted just half an hour and a third-place finisher emerged in Rifat Gegic who was knocked out by Ensan.

Ensan entered the heads-up duel with an overwhelming lead and finished it all in just two hands. The last hand of the event saw Jan Timo Jobmann announcing all-in on a ten-high flop with for a flush draw. Ensan called with for a weaker flush draw but added a straight draw on the turn. The river 8x paired Ensan, crowning him the champion!

WSOPE Crazy Eights

The €808 Crazy Eights event with €200K GTD attracted 210 entries with an additional 38 re-entries leading to an overlay of around €10,000. The event was taken down by Germany’s Robert Schulz who defeated France`s Morgan Alain Patrick Bonnaud in the heads-up battle for €42,165.

Adda52 Team Pro Kunal Patni finished ninth in the event for €4,264 (~₹3,27,195).

Final Table Recap

India’s Kunal Patni was in thick of action but unfortunately was the first casualty of the final table. Patni shoved with pocket sixes for around 13 big blinds and got called by a player who tabled pocket queens.

Next to fall was Philippines based Kastle Casey followed by Italy’s Daniele Scatragli.

The next two eliminations saw the last of the remaining Italian players on the final table i.e. Massimilliano Patroncini and Roberto Manfredi.

With Bulgaria`s Fahredin Mustafov exiting in fourth place followed by countryman Krasimir Yankov in third, action was down to the finale between Bonnaud and Schulz with the latter taking down the title eventually.
