It was a gala event, pulling hundreds of poker enthusiasts and players from the domestic and international poker world into its fold. We are referring to the second edition of the much anticipated and unique Poker Sports League (PSL) with a prize pool of ₹4.5 Crores that was held onboard Casino Deltin Royale in Goa from May 9 – 13.
Eleven teams pitched a tough and raging battle against each other and after an action-packed contest, Team Goan Nuts emerged victorious and bagged the ₹2 Crores top prize cheque for their splendid performance. Team Gujarat Falcons came as close to lifting the cup but eventually finished runner up and won ₹1.2 Crores, followed by Rajasthan Tilters which finished third, winning ₹90 Lakhs in prize money.
Amid much cheer and applause, PSL ambassador and Chess Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand presented the trophy and medals to the winning teams. Highlights of PSL season-2 will be aired on Dsport channel from June 11-17.

Poker Sports League Season 2
In its second year of operation since it was launched in 2017 by Amit Burman of Dabur Industries, Adda52 co-founder Anuj Gupta and veteran of poker industry Pranav Bagai, PSL organizes an annual series of poker tournaments between city-based franchised teams.
Live and online qualifications for PSL season 2 began in December 2017 and continued till March. Close to 110 players were drafted for the 11 participating teams namely Andhra Bullets, Goan Nuts, Kolkata Kings, Gujarat Falcons, Punjab Bluffers, Rajasthan Tilters, Chennai Thalaivas, Bengaluru Warriors, Delhi Panthers, Pune Sharks and Mumbai Anchors.
All PSL tournaments were free, with a mentor selected for each team. 2 professional players were chosen first, followed by 2 live qualifiers, 3 online qualifiers through tournaments hosted on Adda52.com and 2 wild card entries.
It was certainly a start studded affair as some of the biggest names of the industry from the international and Asian poker circuit were a part of the one-of-a-kind league. These included the 2014 WSOP Main Event champion from Sweden Martin Jacobson, PokerStars Championship Prague 2017 High Roller winner Danny Tang, 2-time WSOP bracelet winner Kevin MacPhee, Hong Kong’s Sparrow Cheung, Taiwan’s Terry Fan, Alan King Lun Lau, 888poker ambassador Sofia Lövgren, Dylan Linde, USA’s Jordan Westmorland, Japan’s Akira Ohyama, Australia’s Bobby Zhang, and Greece’s Ioannis A Konstas.
Every day, right up to the finale, one team was declared ‘Team of the Day’ and awarded ₹10 Lakhs.

PSL Season-2 rode through interesting and exciting moments and some long hours of speculative and focused game play. The finale witnessed thrilling game play as it came down to the last 3 teams, Goan Nuts, Gujarat Falcons and Rajasthan Tilters.
The PSL Season-2 winner, Goan Nuts was mentored by renowned poker pro and musician Dhaval Mudgal and is owned by Gaurav Mohan. Goan Nuts team members included Dylan Linde, Kevin Macphee, Ravi Goel, Sagar Gogia, Gauav Verma, Jaskirat Singh, Young Gun Abhinav Iyer, Aman Dhamija, Firoz Khan, Siddharth Karia, Pranay Chawla, Pranav Khadalkar, and Kshito Kucheria.
Gujarat Falcons is owned by Veenit Raval, Akash Singhania, Jaydeep Dawer and Shubha Bhardwaj and mentored by Romit Advani. The team members included Zarvan Tumboli, Jaydeep Dawer, Ankit Takle, Loveleen Singh, Ioannis A. Konstas, Eka Vedantham, Mayank Jain, Naman Khettry and Ram Kakkar.
