It was a thundering Thursday that saw Adda52’s Godfather XI ₹20 Lakhs GTD, which was the biggest tourney last night, suffer yet another bout of the overlay fever. The event attracted 392 entries (255 unique and 137 re-entries), posting an overlay of ₹40,000. Young talent Gaurav ‘gauravarod’ Sood, who had previously won PokerStars India’s Highroller ₹10 Lakhs GTD on September 5 for ₹2.08 Lakhs, trounced the field, adding an impressive ₹4.96 Lakhs to his bankroll. Meanwhile, ‘Ganu12’ took down Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for a ₹62,319 paycheque.

PokerBaazi’s The Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD was the other prominent fixture last night and outlasting the 222 entries (135 unique and 87 re-entries) was well-known pro Siddharth ‘Sidddhu’ Mundada. Mundada has had a breakout year already – we saw him posting an impressive six scores during his debut visit at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) this summer, and he followed through by winning his first-ever live title at the IPC comeback series where he took down the ₹10K Freezeout for ₹8.80 Lakhs. This time, Mundada outran the competitive field that gathered at The Summit, claiming a cool ₹3.91 Lakhs for his efforts. The other PokerBaazi event, Thursday MonsterStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD, was taken down by ‘pokerss’ who pocketed ₹1.34 Lakhs.

Over at Spartan Poker, the Thursday’s schedule of events was headlined by the Head-Hunter ₹10 Lakhs GTD. Coming out on top was Laksh Pal ‘LuckyBhai$’ Singh, who captured the title for ₹2.25 Lakhs. The other Thursday major on the site, Ultimate PLO ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD crowned a champion in Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam who took home ₹61,898.

PokerStars India has been splurging on marketing, and the returns have started to pour in for the site. Last night was no different as the Highroller ₹10 Lakhs GTD smashed its guarantee with a collection of ₹11.41 Lakhs through 163 entries (92 unique and 71 re-entries). In the end, ‘Mr.Blackeh’ denied PokerStars India Team pro Sharad ‘sordykrd’ Rao the title, netting ₹2.30 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Rao pocketed ₹1.71 Lakhs for his second-place finish. The Classic ₹2 Lakhs GTD, on the other hand, fell short in meeting the guarantee by a few entries. This time, ‘gangnam gangi’ came out on top and won the title after defeating Aman ‘KarmaPoker77’ Parakh (runner-up for ₹36,813) heads-up, banking ₹49,091 in the top prize.

Fast-growing online poker platform, 9stacks hosted a unique rake-free event yesterday named Thunder @8pm ₹5 Lakhs GTD. The tournament was the first-of-its-kind and will hopefully inspire other operators to host such events in the future. Sporting a buy-in of ₹4,000, the tournament brought in 137 entries (70 unique, 33 re-entries and 34 re-buys), successfully smashing the guarantee with a prize pool collection of ₹5.48 Lakhs. Vinayak ‘hagnamanahai’ Bajaj was the last player standing in the event, and he took home ₹1.42 Lakhs for the win.
