The two-day long 2019 Deltin Poker Tournament Xpress (DPTX) Sikkim ₹15K Main Event has culminated and outlasting the stiff competition from the 64-strong entry field to capture his first-ever live title was Ankit Jajodia (cover image). The pro from Shimla also posted his career-best score of ₹3.25 Lakhs with this win!
Known mostly for his phenomenal runs on the online felts, Jajodia has more than a few final table finishes to his name. Notably, Jajodia was the first Indian challenger to score at last year’s Manila Megastack 10. He had picked up three scores at the series including a sixth-place finish in the Kickoff ₱3M GTD Event.
Jajodia entered the Main Event final table with the third-largest stack and eliminated Anish Kumar on his way to the heads-up confrontation against eventual runner-up Sajjan Barnwal. Barnwal fought hard to win his second DPT title but was denied by Jajodia who ultimately emerged victorious.
Although, the Main Event has come to a close, with two more events still to play out, the nail-biting action of this series is not over yet!

Final Table Recap
Defending champion Bhola Sharma‘s dream of consecutive Main Event title wins came to an end early on into the final table. Sharma pitted his against Jasdeep Nagpal’s . The board offered no help to either players and Nagpal’s higher pair eliminated Sharma in ninth place.
A couple of hands later, Abhishek Sharma raised from the middle position with , and Sanchit Pandey moved all-in from the big blind holding . Sharma called and the board ran out . While both players picked up a pair of queens, Sharma’s jack kicker won him the pot, resulting in Pandey’s eight place exit.
The next player to depart was the only female player at the final table – Radhika Shankar. She was involved in a three-way pot with Sharma and Sajjan Barnwal. Sharma held , Barnwal had and Shankar tabled . The board fanned out . Sharma found two pairs of aces and sevens on the turn, but Barnwal went on to win the hand with his rivered set of deuces.
Soon after that, an interesting hand led to the double elimination of Jasdeep Nagpal and Anish Suri at the hands of Anish Kumar. Nagpal shoved all-in from the hijack, Suri re-shoved from the button and Kumar called from the small blind.

The board blanked, but Kumar’s pocket rockets held up, resulting in Suri’s sixth place and Nagpal’s fifth place finish.
Down to the last four players, overnight chip leader Abhishek Sharma‘s were busted by Barnwal’s which improved to a rivered hearts flush on the runout . Sharma was eliminated in fourth place.
During level 16 with blinds at 8,000/16,000, Ankit Jajodia raised to 35,000 from the button with , and Anish Kumar called from the big blind holding . The flop fell . Kumar led out for 30,000 and Jajodia called to see the turn . Kumar yet again led out for 35,000 and Jajodia called to see the on the river completing the board. Though Kumar flopped a nine-high straight, Jajodia hit a hearts flush on the river, sending Kumar to the rail in third place.
Following Kumar’s elimination, the final showdown between Ankit Jajodia (904,000) and Sajjan Barnwal (376,000) commenced with the former starting off with a commanding lead over Barnwal.
The heads-up battle did not take too long to wrap up. On the final hand, Jajodia moved all-in for 950,000 with and Barnwal called for his remaining 185,000 with . The board bricked and Jajodia’s ace-king kicker won him his maiden live title for a whopping ₹3.25 Lakhs payday!
Final Table Results
Running alongside the Main Event was the ₹10K Bounty event. Bhola Sharma was seen in action following his ninth-place finish in the Main Event, along with the likes of Anant Purohit, Yuvraj Choudhary, Shivam Shukla, Karan Sawhney, and Rajeev Sachdeva. With late registrations open till the end of level 8, the event is expected to crown a winner either later tonight or early tomorrow morning.
