The Millionaire bonanza on Spartan Poker continues and starting off the weekend in style, Day 1A of The Millionaire ₹1.5 Crores GTD pulled in 490 entries (273 unique, 135 re-entries and 82 rebuys) on Friday. The second Millionaire of November did even better than its predecessor, The Millionaire Legends ₹2 Crores GTD, which had attracted 320 entries (226 unique, 59 re-entries and 35 rebuys). Following several hours of play, only 77 runners advanced to Day 2. Headlining the list of survivors was one of the most recognizable names in the circuit – Rajat ‘Garammasala’ Sharma. The online pro bagged 2,38,915 in chips, with ‘masterbluff’ (2,35,835) and ‘pot-pan’ (2,28,363) rounding out the top three stacks on Day 1A.
Sharma seems to have made a habit out of topping Day 1As’ in the Millionaire events. He had taken pole position on Day 1A of The Millionaire X5 last month as well, finishing 53rd for ₹20,534 and will be looking to improve upon that this time. Some of his recent achievements include taking down PokerStars India’s Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD on November 7 for ₹2.87 Lakhs, Spartan Poker’s Sunday SuperStack ₹30 Lakhs GTD on September 29 for ₹4.93 Lakhs, PokerStars India’s Uppercut – Progressive KO ₹8 Lakhs GTD for ₹2.03 Lakhs on September 20 and Adda52’s Whale – 6 Max ₹15 Lakhs GTD for ₹4.17 Lakhs on September 6.
Besides topping The Millionaire Day 1A, Sharma blistering Friday run brought with it three more scores, namely in the SSS #30 The Elite ₹30 Lakhs GTD (12th for ₹52,812), SSS #29 TGIF ₹12 Lakhs GTD (29th for ₹7,064) and the Uppercut Progressive KO 6-Max ₹10 Lakhs GTD (33rd for ₹4,970).
While The Millionaire was the showstopper last night, the SSS #30 The Elite ₹30 Lakhs GTD also registered 324 entries (146 unique, 75 re-entries, and 103 rebuys), generating ₹32.40 Lakhs in the prize pool. ‘JhingaLala’ outlasted Sriharsha ‘Fish2050’ Doddapaneni in the heads-up to win ₹6.85 Lakhs.
Young Gun Siddharth ‘schemer77’ Karia championed a field of 812 entries (386 unique, 136 re-entries and 290 rebuys yesterday) in the SSS #29 TGIF ₹12 Lakhs GTD to win ₹2.35 Lakhs.
Sameer ‘Falcon_Prince’ Paranjape (SSS #28 Afternoon Hi-Fi ₹3 Lakhs GTD for ₹69,000) and ‘space ace’ (Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹58,300) championed the other events on Spartan Poker.
Adda52’s The Ballers ₹15 Lakhs GTD crowned a winner in tournament regular Wilson ‘kaling’ Yomso who ran past a field of 230 entries (151 unique and 79 re-entries), netting ₹4.32 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Yomso also final tabled Spartan Poker’s SSS #28 Afternoon Hi-Fi ₹3 Lakhs GTD, finishing third for ₹31,500.
The Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 was won by ‘Dee6969’ for ₹75,580.
PokerBaazi’s marquee Friday event – Fri-Yay ₹10 Lakhs GTD – was another crowd-puller and locked in 355 entries (165 unique and 199 re-entries), collecting ₹10.22 lakhs in the prize pool. PokerGuru Ambassador Nadeem ‘SpadeHunter’ Basha trounced the field and pocketed a winner’s payday of ₹2.14 Lakhs. However, this wasn’t Basha’s only deep run of the night, as he also final tabled PokerStars India’s Uppercut Progressive KO 6-Max ₹10 Lakhs GTD, placing ninth for ₹15,482.
While Basha took down the Fri-Yay, another fellow Team Ambassador Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam came extremely close to clinching the Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD title, but ultimately lost it to ‘Chennaino1’ who collected ₹81,370 for the win. Alam received ₹56,974 for his second-place finish.
Over at PokerStars India, the site’s signature Friday events, Uppercut Progressive KO 6-Max ₹10 Lakhs GTD and 6-Max NLHE ₹2 Lakhs GTD, both failed to meet their advertised guarantees. Online crusher Anant ‘Dr4gonW4rrior’ Purohit topped the Uppercut Progressive KO for ₹2.04 Lakhs. ‘slowroller1707’ won the 6-Max NLHE for ₹41,842, following a heads-up chop with Harsh ‘kakori kabab’ Dembla (runner-up for ₹38,133).
