Friday was off to a flying start on the virtual felts as Day 1B of Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire X5 Edition ₹10 Lakhs GTD To Top 5 Players registered 454 entries (204 unique, 82 re-entries and 168 rebuys). 52 participants survived the day’s play with online regular Abhishek ‘TheMagician’ Paul emerging as the end-of-day chip leader with 2.18 Million chips. Prateek ‘Prateek Pandey’ Pandey (1,97,062) and Sanket ‘THEDONKKID’ Deshmukh (1,85,745) rounded out the top three stacks.
While The Millionaire X5 did attract the most attention last night, the other prominent tournament on the site was The Elite ₹25 Lakhs GTD. The signature event was hit hard by the overlay freight train, leading to a shortfall of ₹3.90 Lakhs through 211 entries (99 unique, 50 re-entries and 62 rebuys). ‘masterbluff’ claimed the most benefit out of the value on offer and shipped the event for an impressive ₹6 Lakhs paycheque.
Another Friday favourite on Spartan Poker was the TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD which too had an overlay of ₹53,500. ‘unruhmlich’ bested PokerGuru Ambassador Naresh ‘FreeFlow’ Veeravalli heads-up and walked away with a winner’s payday of ₹1.94 Lakhs. Veeravalli collected ₹1.23 Lakhs for his runner-up finish, but more than made up for it by championing the SVS #15 Hi-Fi ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1 Lakh. The cash game pro also bagged a stack of 1,11,602 for Day 2 of The Millionaire X5.
Meanwhile, Rahul ‘Mrrahul777’ Kr won the Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹52,749.
Over on PokerBaazi, two signature Friday events had their weekly run. The Fri-YAY ₹10 Lakhs GTD could muster only 300 entries (129 unique and 171 re-entries) to fall glaringly short by ₹1.42 Lakhs in meeting its guarantee. In the end it was Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall who clinched the title along with a ₹2.20 Lakhs payday. The other tourney on the site – Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD fared better and collected ₹3.06 Lakhs in prize money from 153 entries (92 unique and 61 re-entries) Aaryan ‘Aaryan99’ Agarwal won the event for ₹78,795.
Similar to Spartan Poker and PokerBaazi, Adda52’s Friday mainstay event, The Ballers ₹15 Lakhs GTD, failed to meet its advertised guarantee and posted an overlay of ₹1.36 Lakhs. Vishwanath ‘vish4u2’ Borhade has made a habit running deep in the various big guarantee events hosted on Adda52. After taking down the Maverick ₹10 Lakhs GTD on October 3 and finishing runner-up in Godfather XI ₹20 Lakhs GTD on October 31, Borhade was back in the thick of the action as he topped the 199-strong entry field in The Ballers and banked a top prize worth ₹3.35 Lakhs.
‘Pokerply’ emerged victorious in the Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹71,250.
Joining the list of overlay-affected sites was PokerStars India as both its Friday flagship tourneys – Uppercut Progressive KO 6-Max Magic Edition ₹10 Lakhs GTD and 6-Max NLHE ₹2 Lakhs GTD – failed to meet their offered guarantees. While the Uppercut Progressive KO crowned a winner in ‘sneakysani’ who netted ₹2.05 Lakhs up top, the 6-Max NLHE was shipped by PokerStars India Team pro Sharad ‘sordykrd’ Rao who pocketed ₹44,540 for his win.
9stacks’ StackUp @8 PM ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD saw Chirag ‘BadSirck’ Khandelwal run past a field of 159 entries (84 unique, 38 re-entries and 37 rebuys) and defeated PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh ‘Ballistik’ Chadha (runner-up for ₹57,500) heads-up to collect a winner’s paycheque of ₹67,500.
Lastly, the Dangal Friday ₹1 Lakh GTD on Poker Dangal was topped by ‘Glitch’ who took home ₹24,000 in first-place prize money.
A player who deserves special mention for his stellar run yesterday is PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja. He picked up four cashes last night which includes two final table finishes:
