Sundays may be the best time for online poker, but there’s no dearth of action mid-week as well. Making its weekly return this Wednesday was Spartan Poker’s Destiny ₹30 Lakhs GTD. A field of 590 entries (259 unique, 163 re-entries, and 168 rebuys) meant that that tournament organizers had to fill in a shortfall of ₹50,000. In the end, it was ‘swatty’ who captured the title and a hefty ₹6.71 Lakhs up top following a heads-up deal with ‘KaalaPatthar.’ The latter pocketed ₹5.88 Lakhs for finishing runner-up. This is the 13th edition of the Destiny, and ‘swatty’ with this win has booked his berth for the Destiny 13.0 SnG finale that guarantees the top three finishers all-expenses-paid package to Las Vegas! The SnG will take place on the site on March 22.

The other flagship, part of the Double Features on Spartan Poker, was the Mega Freeze ₹4 Lakhs GTD where ‘SuperStorm666’ topped a 148-player field to win ₹90,076 after striking a heads-up deal with Shakir’ Nochance’ Mohammad. Mohammad’s runner-up finish fetched him ₹88,855 in prize money.

Bijlani is a site regular and had last won The Vegas ₹10 Lakhs GTD in October for a ₹2.33 Lakhs payday. Yesterday, he defeated Ballack ‘Ballack’ Micheal heads-up to pocket ₹2.20 Lakhs in prize money. Micheal finished runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs. The event logged in an overlay of ₹28,000.

Adda52’s flagship Wednesday tourney, Maverick ₹10 Lakhs GTD, saw 496 hopefuls (243 unique and 253 re-entries) ponying-up the ₹2,500 buy-in. Unlike Destiny and The Pride, the Maverick smashed its guarantee generating a ₹11.28 Lakhs prize pool. ‘Reg_Slayer’ who had won this very event on December 18 last year, came out on top yet again and walked away with the winner’s cheque of ₹2.70 Lakhs after defeating ‘BaniyaKiller’ (runner-up for ₹1.57 Lakhs) heads-up.

Over at PokerStars India, PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit’ b00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan championed the 232-strong field (119 unique and 113 re-entries). He defeated his heads-up rival ‘RunBarryRun’ (runner-up for ₹71,300) to capture the Night on Stars ₹5 Lakhs GTD title for a ₹96,466 payday. The tournament comfortably surpassed its guarantee to collect ₹5.05 Lakhs in prize money. Incidentally, Wadhawan also finished 14th in Spartan Poker’s Mega Freeze ₹4 Lakhs GTD for ₹7,104.
