A thundering Thursday saw some massive guarantees on offer. The Spartan Poker-hosted Thursday major Ultron ₹20 Lakhs GTD pulled in the largest field on Thursday night of 516 hopefuls (258 unique, 120 re-entries, and 138 re-buys), mustering a healthy ₹20.64 Lakhs prize pool. Sanat ‘mehro2511’ Mehrotra displayed top form and emerged triumphant over the field and his heads-up opponent ‘sarkar’ to capture the title. Mehrotra is a well-known online regular and had in October last year taken down the Mega Suits on Adda52 for ₹8 Lakhs. One of his most prominent online wins this year came in August when he won Spartan Poker’s Elite ₹25 Lakhs GTD for ₹5.67 Lakhs. With the Ultron title in his grasp, Mehrotra padded his bankroll by ₹3.31 Lakhs.

Though the Ultron surpassed its guarantee, the Hi-Fi ₹6 Lakh GTD had to fill in a ₹40,000 overlay with only 280 entrants (144 unique, 46 re-entries and 90 rebuys) signing up to play. Rising to the top was PokerGuru Ambassador Mithun ‘Intuitionnn’ Mahesh, who defeated Sanchit ‘gareeeeb’ Adukia heads-up to win ₹1.32 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi’s The Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD was the other mega-event last night that pulled in 250 entries (126 unique and 124 re-entries), generating ₹18.75 Lakhs in the prize pool. Poker coach Akshay ‘sherlock52’ Nasa, who was in the news for shipping the APT Vietnam Main Event last month for a career-best VND 1,486,560,000 (~₹46 Lakhs), was back to his winning ways last night. He had come close to taking down PokerBaazi’s G.O.A ₹20 Lakhs GTD on Wednesday, ultimately finishing runner-up to Anurag ‘13anurag’ Srivastava. He did one better last night by championing The Summit to win ₹4.41 Lakhs. Nasa also finished 24th in PokerStars India’s Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD for ₹14,340.

Among the prominent winners on Thursday was another superstar Aditya ‘gangajal’ Sushant, who ran past a field of 139 entries (92 unique and 47 re-entries) in the PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS) #5 ₹5 Lakhs GTD to win ₹1.28 Lakhs.

Adda52’s marquee Thursday offering, Godfather ₹20 Lakhs GTD, clocked in 431 entries (259 unique and 172 re-entries), collecting a massive ₹21.55 Lakhs prize pool. Unknown player ‘som22asopa’ obliterated the field to claim the top prize of ₹5.34 Lakhs.

PokerStars India was also among the sites that saw their flagship events comfortably meet the advertised guarantees. The ever-popular Highroller ₹12 Lakhs GTD crowned a champion in MTT regular Ayush ’Kyanaamrakhu’ Garg, who pocketed ₹2,38,492 for his win. Still, it was the eventual runner-up, PokerGuru Ambassador Jayjit ‘unlucky2k’ Ray, who walked away with a better ₹2,38,918, courtesy a heads-up chop.
