There was a noticeable spike in tempo on Wednesday with Spartan Poker’s Destiny 12.0 ₹25 Lakhs GTD leading the charge. A player pool of 442 entries (200 unique, 108 re-entries and 134 re-buys) however, wasn’t enough to meet the advertised guarantee, resulting in an overlay of ₹2.90 Lakhs. Kolkata-born Raghav’ thatssosick’ Bansal ran past the field, including besting Charu’ 7freeman’ Vikram Kaushik (runner-up for ₹4.12 Lakhs) heads-up, to capture the title and top prize of ₹6.62 Lakhs.
Even with the Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) bringing in most of the tournament regs, the online tournaments have not been lacking in action. The biggest guaranteed event on PokerBaazi last night was the G.O.A. ₹20 Lakhs GTD. Aman’ alwaysriver’ Kejriwal topped the 354-strong entry field (223 unique and 131 re-entries), defeating online phenom Srihari’ bangbang999’ Bang heads-up. The event suffered a shortfall of ₹2.30 Lakhs, and Kejriwal banked the lion’s share of the prize pool worth ₹3.70 Lakhs, while Bang walked away with ₹2.67 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
Adda52’s Maverick ₹10 Lakhs GTD wasn’t spared the overlay onslaught either. Gathering 394 entries (230 unique and 164 re-entries), the event suffered an overlay of ₹1.03 Lakhs. Anurag’ NormanBates’ Srivastava made most of the value on offer, collecting a top prize of ₹2.48 Lakhs for shipping the event.
Over at PokerStars India, the Night on Stars ₹5 Lakhs GTD was another flagship that failed to meet its offered guarantee, falling ₹88,000 short of the mark after logging in 206 runners (119 unique and 87 re-entries). Kaushik’ breadbutterjam’ Tibrewal was declared the winner, and he took home ₹88,453 in first-place prize money.
