We’re four days into 2020, and the month’s impressive run of events is already well underway. Sounding off the action has been PokerBaazi’s most-awaited Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) January edition that began proceedings with its new online avatar on January 2. Friday was when the marquee BPTO Main Event ₹1 Crore GTD played out the first of its starting flights. A total of 324 hopefuls that included 197 unique players and 127 re-entries signed up to play Day 1A, and after hours of intense action, it was Aditya ‘adit11’ Kulkarni who bagged the most massive stack in the surviving field. Kulkarni has only two days back, snagged the GOA ₹20 Lakhs GTD title on the site for a ₹3.80 Lakhs payday. With 460,836 in chips, he now towers over the 31 survivors who have qualified for Day 2. Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood (409,500) and Sandeep ‘PoKcey’ Singh (314,624) rounded out the top three stacks on Day 1A.

Over at the BPTO High Roller 6-Max ₹50 Lakhs GTD, a total of 192 entrants (125 unique and 67 re-entries) ponied up the ₹27,500 buy-in over two starting flights, falling ₹2.01 Lakhs short on the posted guarantee. It took nearly seven hours of intense online play before the final table was formed with the elimination of ‘kartoos’ in seventh place (₹2.01 Lakhs). Leading the charge on the six-handed final table is Devang ‘laila’ Yadav, who bagged a stack of 2.23 Million. Shagun ‘sogani22’ Jain (1,725,791) and Chirag ‘Olandir’ Bhardwaj (667,421) are the other two top stacks. Also carrying forward veritably big stacks are PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja (429,250) and seasoned pro Raghav ‘thatssosick’ Bansal (377,019).

Yadav was, in fact, unstoppable last night. In addition to punching an all-expenses-paid ticket to Goa for the BPTO High Roller final table, he went on to take down Adda52’s The Ballers ₹15 Lakhs GTD as well. He championed a field of 258 hopefuls (160 unique and 98 re-entries) to capture the title for ₹4.59 Lakhs. Incidentally, the event surpassed its advertised guarantee by collecting a prize pool of ₹17.67 Lakhs.

The surge in online traffic benefitted Spartan Poker as well, with all the flagships at the site successfully obliterating their advertised guarantees. Headlining the show was The Elite ₹25 Lakhs GTD that attracted a field of 291 entries (137 unique, 70 re-entries, and 84 rebuys). The event accrued an impressive ₹29.10 Lakhs in prize money and culminated in a three-day deal that saw ‘Shrek9999′ take home the top prize of ₹4.66 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja in addition to making the cut for the BPTO High Roller final table, finished runner-up in The Elite for ₹4.41 Lakhs. Avadh ‘cateyes’ Shah finished third for ₹4.14 Lakhs.

Over at TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD, a 793-entry field (332 unique, 166 re-entries and 295 rebuys) generated a ₹11.89 Lakhs prize pool. Another seasoned pro Rubin ‘kornkid’ Labroo was seen taking up the top spot after what was most likely a heads-up deal with ‘Junior-KK.’ While Labroo added ₹1.66 Lakhs to his bankroll, the latter padded his account with ₹1.49 Lakhs.

Labroo made another strong run for the title in PokerStars India`s Uppercut – Progressive KO 6-Max MAGIC Edition ₹10 Lakhs GTD but fell a spot short, to take home a runner-up payday of ₹1.02 Lakhs. Joining the champion’s club instead was Dhinesh ‘you3betl4bet’ Kumar who trounced the 245-strong field (136 unique and 109 re-entries) to win ₹1.83 Lakhs.
