Tuesday night was an impactful one for Indian poker with news of Akshay Nasa taking down the APT Vietnam Main Event title creating quite the media frenzy. But the virtual felts weren’t lacking in action either. The Spartan Super Series (SSS) is well and truly underway, and the biggest guarantee event on the schedule was SSS#11 Mega Stack ₹20 Lakhs GTD. The mega tourney registered 651 entries (341 unique and 310 re-entries), smashing the guarantee to reach a prize pool of ₹24.21 Lakhs. The heads-up finale saw online phenom Ayan ‘interlalia_1’ Ray defeating PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved (runner-up for ₹2.94 Lakhs) to win the top prize of ₹4.67 Lakhs.

Ray is no stranger to online success, having featured prominently in our previous reports. Some of his most recent accomplishments include winning Adda52’s Goa Fest ₹8 Lakhs GTD on November 4 for ₹2.34 Lakhs and the Godfather X ₹20 Lakhs GTD on September 19 for ₹4.97 Lakhs. In fact, he enjoyed a superb run on September 11 as well with two deep runs that include winning PokerBaazi’s The Vegas ₹10 Lakhs GTD for ₹2.35 Lakhs and also finishing runner-up in Adda52’s Maverick ₹10 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.51 Lakhs.

The SSS#12 Hi-Fi ₹8 Lakhs GTD was another major that obliterated its advertised guarantee, locking in ₹8.65 Lakhs in the prize pool through 577 entries (265 unique, 224 rebuys and 88 re-entries). ‘mumbaifish’ was the last player standing in the event and won ₹1.43 Lakhs.

Yadav also scored in the Sixth Sense (4th for ₹54,612) and The Endeavour (24th for ₹13,459). Incidentally, both events had to fill in overlays.

Across at 9stacks, the StackUp @8 PM ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD registered an overlay of ₹38,500 over a 141-strong field (111 unique and 30 re-entries) and was championed by ‘Crazyslapper’ for ₹67,500.
