The uninterrupted action at the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Philippines II 2019 continues at the Grand Wing of the Resorts World Manila. The series recorded the largest-ever Main Event turnout for an APT event in the country with its 515-entry field beating the previous record of 503 entries that was set in April last year.
Keeping Team India`s hopes for the Main Event title alive were Jaideep Sajwan (81,900) and Akshay Nasa (36,100) with both players entering play on Day 2. While Nasa busted out early on Sunday, Sajwan managed to bag a below-average stack of 122,500 for Day 3 that places him 49th in chips amid the 66 remaining players.
The Main Event pays out 52 places with a min-cash worth PHP 104,700 (~₹1.43 Lahs), while a jaw-dropping PHP 5,185,500 (~₹71.28 Lakhs) awaits the ultimate champion!
Running alongside Day 3 of the Main Event today will be the final table of the No-Limit Hold’em 1 Event that registered 150 entries yesterday, generating a prize pool of PHP 2,619,000 (~₹35.99 Lakhs). Another two two-day events commence today – the PHP 107,500 (~₹1.47 Lakhs) buy-in High Rollers 2 and the PHP 19,800 (~₹27,209) buy-in Short Deck 1.
Main Event – Day 2
Two hundred and nineteen players came back to play Day 2. With the late registration period open for the first hour of play, 54 more runners joined the action resulting in a record-breaking 515-entry field.
The prize pool swelled to an enormous PHP 24,977,500 (~₹3.43 Crores), and the eventual winner will collect a life-changing PHP 5,185,500 (~₹71.28 Lakhs) in prize money.
A full day`s play later, only 66 players were left standing, and they reconvene today in a bid to make it in the final eight.
From Team India, Jaideep Sajwan (81,900) and Akshay Nasa (36,100) resumed play on Day 2 where Sajwan was the sole Indian player to make it to Day 3. He is placed 49th in chips among the 66 remaining hopefuls and resumes Day 3 with a below-average stack of 122,500 (average stack – 195,075).
With 52 places assured a payday, the money bubble should burst relatively early in the day today.
Previous APT major title-holders still in the running include Lester Edoc (264,500), Yo Hwan Lim (202,500), John Tech (154,500) and Iori Yogo (53,000).
The top three stacks on Day 3 belong to Arvhin Malinab (670,500), Sim Jae Kyung (522,000) and Xiao Sheng Zheng (437,500).
