Sundays don’t get more power-packed than this! Yesterday was full to the brim with mind-boggling action and nail-biting finishes, and at the end of the night (or rather the wee hours of Monday morning), we were greeted by not one, not two, but four Millionaires!

The first of three Millionaires to be hosted on Spartan Poker throughout November, ‘Millionaire Legends,’ commenced on November 8 with its first starting flight, Day 1A. Over the next two days, the remaining two flights, Day 1B and 1C, generated a massive field of 857 entries, which led to a gigantic prize pool of ₹2.18 Crores. Following nearly six hours of play on Sunday, Anish ‘Illusionist’ Patra was the last man standing and became the first Millionaire champion for this month. Patra added a life-altering ₹46.21 Lakhs to his bankroll with this win!

A cash game specialist, Patra had come very close to winning the PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) PPL #35 High Roller 6-Max ₹70 Lakhs GTD last month, but ultimately lost the title to Shashank ‘Westworld’ Jain, instead finishing runner-up for ₹10.85 Lakhs. He had also championed Adda52’s The Ballers ₹15 Lakhs GTD on October 25 for ₹4.20 Lakhs.

If you thought that winning the Millionaire Legends was enough for Patra, then think again. The dynamic player sky-rocketed to the top of the 514-strong entry field (294 unique and 220 re-entries) in Adda52’s Mega Suits ₹25 Lakhs GTD and pocketed the ₹4.88 Lakhs winner’s payday in the process. Patra’s cumulative earnings for November 10 stand tall at ₹51.10 Lakhs!

Besides Patra, the Millionaire Legends also made three more Millionaires – Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma (runner-up for ₹40.32 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Nadeem ‘blindgame’ Basha (3rd for ₹17.98 Lakhs) and Manish ‘thekid’ Lakhotia (4th for ₹12.53 Lakhs).

With the Millionaire Legends now done and dusted, the next extravaganza in the pipeline is the SSS Millionaire ₹1.5 Crores GTD, which is slated to run from November 15 to 17.

Amid the Sunday regulars on Spartan Poker, Sunday SuperStack ₹30 Lakhs GTD attracted 610 entries (291 unique, 132 re-entries, and 187 rebuys) to generate a ₹30.50 Lakhs prize pool. Site regular Venkatesh ‘Borissss’ Mukundan trounced the competition to place himself in the winner circle. This isn’t the first title win for Mukundan at the site, and his past laurels include winning the Mega Stack ₹12 Lakhs GTD in April for ₹2.53 Lakhs and the WTF ₹1 Lakhs GTD for ₹1 Lakh later in June. This time, Mukundan did even better, netting a hefty payday of ₹5.90 Lakhs.

The other big winners of the site were ‘Tiger10’ (Electric Big Daddy ₹6 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.26 Lakhs) and ‘Tokio999’ (Electric Afternoon Hi-Fi ₹3.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹85,560).

PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD was a resounding success. With 568 entries (308 unique and 260 re-entries) converging, the event collected ₹28.40 Lakhs in prize money. ‘a_one’ triumphed over the field to take home the winner’s cheque worth ₹5.36 Lakhs. Over at BSS PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD, Pankaj ‘agentwinner’ Kothari, who is busy at the APT Vietnam series, snagged the title for ₹53,868.

While Patra took down the Mega Suits on Adda52 last night, the other big guarantee event on the site – Big Slick ₹15 Lakhs GTD – was taken down by Saket ‘saker’ Kumar for ₹2.11 Lakhs, after besting Young Gun Ujjwal ‘fourteenk’ Narwal (runner-up for ₹1.99 Lakhs) heads-up.

PokerStars India saw its Sunday marquee events return to the virtual felts after a week-long hiatus due to the Diwali Rush series. Three of the biggest guarantee events hosted on the poker portal, Sunday Special Progressive KO SE ₹20 Lakhs GTD, Sunday Special (L) ₹10 Lakhs GTD and Sunday Warm-Up ₹2 Lakhs GTD, all had their guarantees increased. Still, none of the tournaments managed to meet their respective guarantees. The Sunday Special Progressive KO SE crowned a champion in veteran pro Nishant ‘DoJingBULLETSS’ Sharma, who took home a cool ₹3.47 Lakhs. In fact, Sharma was in exceptional form last night as he scored in two more events – 9stacks’ The Joker ₹15 Lakhs GTD (13th for ₹15,000) and Adda52’s Big Slick ₹15 Lakhs GTD (64th for ₹6,291).

Online phenom Sagar ‘sagarpupull’ Choudhury shipped the Sunday Special (L) for ₹1.87 Lakhs, while Harsh ‘harsh1327’ Bubna won the Sunday Warm-Up for ₹21,902, following a five-way chop with ‘suneet007’ (runner-up for ₹25,984), ‘FeeD-oN-You’ (3rd for ₹25,516), Armaan ‘armaan007111’ Kochhar (4th for ₹22,653) and PokerGuru Ambassador Rony ‘GoGetters1’ Chowdhury (5th for ₹23,080).

9stacks’ Sunday mainstay tourney, The Joker ₹15 Lakhs GTD, suffered a massive overlay of ₹2.75 Lakhs after registering 298 entries (206 unique, 53 re-entries and 39 rebuys). Making the most of the value on offer, Akash ‘K9_A_2’ Shekhar shipped the event, defeating PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘HakoonahMatata’ Ahuja heads-up to win ₹3.67 lakhs. Ahuja received ₹2.47 Lakhs for his second-place finish. Shekhar also ran deep in PokerBaazi’s BSS PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD, placing 10th for ₹3,919.

Over at Poker Dangal, ‘fakeer’ captured the Sunday Bonanza ₹1 Lakhs GTD for ₹26,800.

Fast-growing site, Khelo365 hosted four tournaments last night which were won by ‘Royalflush2019’ (Deepstack ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹86,000), ‘udarchis’ (Big Bang ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹46,000), ‘goenkabros’ (Mega Splash ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹43,000) and ‘sristi’ (Deep Stack ₹60K GTD for ₹24,000).

A player who deserves special mention for their incredible run on the online felts last night is PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik Ved. After busting out of Day 2 of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam Main Event VND 8 Billion GTD, Ved picked up four scores on the virtual felts, including a final table finish –

  • 9stacks’ The Joker ₹15 Lakhs GTD (6th for ₹56,250)
  • Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire Legends ₹2 Crores GTD (82nd for ₹39,240)
  • PokerStars India’s Sunday Special Progressive KO SE ₹20 Lakhs GTD (12th for ₹15,836)
  • Adda52’s Mega Suits ₹25 Lakhs GTD (24th for ₹19,275)
