What a blockbuster Sunday it was last night! In what was possibly the most hectic day on the virtual felts this month, Sunday brought a plethora of high-value tournaments for poker enthusiasts to pit their skills at. The Spartan Super Series (SSS) has been running on Spartan Poker since September 16 and Sunday saw the series culminate with three of its final events playing down to a winner. Not only did the SSS series concluded in grand style, but the PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) also hosted massive guarantee tournaments which attracted the majority of the domestic circuit.

However, the player who stole the spotlight was none other than the poster boy of Indian poker and the first Indian to bring home a World Series of Poker (WSOP) gold bracelet, Aditya Sushant! He was at his multi-tabling best last night and picked up scores in four events, including two titles! His first title of the night came in Adda52’s Mega Suits ₹25 Lakhs GTD where he triumphed over a field of 450 entries (280 unique and 170 re-entries) and claimed ₹4.92 Lakhs in first-place prize money. While his second title came in 9stacks’ signature Sunday tournament – The Joker ₹15 Lakhs GTD – where he netted ₹3.67 Lakhs. If that was not enough, he also final tabled PokerBaazi’s BSS PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD, finishing seventh for ₹23,128 and further cashed in the BSS SuperStack ₹30 Lakhs GTD, placing 14th for ₹39,483. Not only that, but Sushant also bagged a decent stack of 137,949 at the end of Flight 1A of The Endeavour ₹60 Lakhs GTD.

While Sushant was in spectacular form yesterday, the biggest winner last night was the champion of Spartan Poker’s SSS #42 Main Event ₹75 Lakhs GTD – ‘Jai Bajrangbali.’ The event registered 747 entries (320 unique, 190 re-entries and 237 rebuys), resulting in an overlay of ₹30,000. The anonymous player raced to the top of the field to take the event down for a monstrous ₹12.80 Lakhs payday!

The other Sunday tourney on Spartan Poker, the Sunday Super Stack ₹30 Lakhs GTD attracted a 620-strong entry field making for a ₹31 Lakhs prize pool. Racing ahead of the others was another well-known poker pro Raghav ‘thatssosick’ Bansal who boosted his bankroll by a hefty ₹5.99 Lakhs.

In the other Spartan Poker tournaments, Devashish ‘debumathur’ Mathur won the SSS Big Daddy ₹6 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.26 Lakhs and Yuvraj ‘madnutscrazy’ Singh captured the Ultimate PLO ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD title for ₹62,016. Both the events saw slight shortfalls in their advertised guarantees, with Big Daddy registering an overlay of ₹15,000 and the Ultimate PLO ending up with ₹12,000 deficit.

PokerBaazi’s PPL which had commenced on September 20, hosted the two starting flights of its marquee tournament – The Endeavour ₹60 Lakhs GTD on Sunday. A total of 1,315 entries (Flight 1A – 681 and Flight 1B – 634) were registered through both flights with ‘gandukepille’ (371,563) headlining the 66 survivors from Flight 1A and Young Gun Siddharth ‘schemer’ Karia (471,618) leading the 59 Flight 1B hopefuls.

PokerBaazi’s flagship Sunday tournament, Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) SuperStack ₹30 Lakhs GTD, superseded its guarantee clocking in ₹36.90 Lakhs in the prize pool through 738 entries (422 unique and 316 re-entries). The heads-up play saw two top pros Nadeem ‘SpadeHunter’ Basha and Akshay ‘sherlock52’ Nasa in contention and ultimately the former prevailed taking away the grand prize of ₹6.67 Lakhs!

The other big guarantee events of PokerBaazi’s Sunday roster were won by Sam ‘thereallokimon’ Anand (BSS MegaStack ₹7 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.79 Lakhs) and Mukesh ‘Guruuu’ Surana (BSS PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.38 Lakhs).

While Sushant had shipped the Mega Suits on Adda52, the Big Slick ₹15 Lakhs GTD crowned a champion in Siddharth ‘si151190’ Mehndiratta who pocketed ₹2.41 Lakhs in prize money for his win. Meanwhile, Adda52’s Sunday Hexagram ₹3 Lakhs was taken down by ‘som22asopa’ for ₹85,500.

Even with Spartan Poker and PokerBaazi dominating the attention of the Indian poker community, PokerStars India managed to the cross the guarantee in its mainstay Sunday event, the Sunday Special – Progressive KO ₹15 Lakhs GTD, which registered 302 entries (170 unique and 132 re-entries), collecting ₹15.10 Lakhs in the prize pool. ‘FLlPflops’ took down the event for a ₹3.10 Lakhs payday. However, the site’s recently launched Sunday Special (L) ₹10 Lakhs GTD did not fare as well and logged in a shortfall of around ₹95,800 via 274 entries (158 unique and 116 re-entries). Akash ‘bruce.lee0247’ Gupta championed the event for ₹1.52 Lakhs, following a three-way chop with Tathagata ‘RadioActivity’ Sengupta (runner-up for ₹1.41 Lakhs) and Sagar ‘sagarpupull’ Choudhury (3rd for ₹1.37 Lakhs).

Coming to the Dangal 100-Max Series on Poker Dangal – the uniquely structured series is now firmly in the history books. Saturday was the final day of the series and headlining the weekend run of the series was 100-Max Event #15 ₹3 Lakhs GTD. With 96 entries (76 unique and 20 rebuys), the event registered an overlay of ₹12,000. ‘GPDK’ was the eventual winner, and he netted ₹60,000 in prize money! With the series now over, it was the regular Sunday tourneys taking on. Ravi ‘DJBravo’ Yadav emerged champion in the Sunday Bonanza ₹1 Lakhs GTD for ₹28,150.

Sunday was action-packed as usual on fast-growing site Khelo365 where three events ran their scheduled course. Topping the list of winners was ‘sathyaesan’ who took down the Big Bang ₹1 Lakhs GTD for ₹46,000. In the other events, ‘sudha1’ (Mega Splash ₹1 Lakhs GTD for ₹43,000) and ‘Chandermoon’ (Deep Stack ₹60K GTD NLHE for ₹25,800) snagged titles.
