Final Table Recap

The first player to depart from the eighth-handed final table was Australian pro Michael Addamo. His ace-nine ran into Ben Heath’s pocket fives, ending the former’s run in eighth place.

Igor Kurganov had entered the final table with a big stack but following a series of bad beats saw his run come to an end in seventh place. He was also the unfortunate tournament bubble.

The lone female pro on the final table was none other than the 2018 Global Poker Index (GPI) Player of the Year (POY) in the women’s category – Kristen Bicknell. The partypoker pro became the sixth player to be eliminated; nevertheless, she was also the first player to finish in the money.

Following Bicknell to the rail was Cary Katz who was ousted in fifth place.

Down to four-handed play, son of Triton co-founder Richard Yong, the in-form Wai Kin Yong’s queen-nine were bested by Heath’s queen-ten, busting Yong in fourth place.

With only three players left in contention, it was Ben Heath’s turn to go when his ace-ten was cracked by Orpen Kisacikoglu’s pocket deuces that flopped a set.

The heads-up match between Kisacikoglu and Vladimir Troyanovksiy lasted for nearly 45 minutes and saw the Turkish player starting off with an approximately 6:5 lead over Troyanovksiy. Though Troyanovksiy tried hard, in the end, Kisacikoglu’s lead was just too much for him to overcome.
