It’s been a busy few days in live tournament circuits with more exciting action yet to unfold at different stops around the world. In Morocco, the much popular World Poker Tour (WPT) is slated to host the WPTDeepStack Marrakech festival at Casino de Marrakech from September 22-30.

The online felts aren’t far behind as far as the thrill and excitement goes. The $1 Million GTD Championship PKO event at the ongoing 2018 partypoker Powerfest found a champion in ‘SexyFunTimes’ who took home the top prize of $100,930 and $136,418 in bounties.

Meanwhile, the 2018 888poker XL Eclipse Series crowned a winner in ‘LeetRunGoot’ in the $30K Crazy 8 for $6,880.

2018 WPT Marrakech Festival Kicks Off on September 22

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is heading to Morocco soon. Featuring 26 events, the nine-day WPTDeepStack Marrakech festival opens on September 22 and will run through an action-packed schedule till September 30 at the Casino de Marrakech.

Highlighting the festival will be the WPTDeepStack Marrakech Main Event that has a Dh 13,200 buy-in. Players can enter through two starting flights, with the first flight kicking off on September 27 and the second flight the next day on September 28. Players will get a 30,000 starting stack with 40-minute blind levels.

On Day 2, that is scheduled for September 29, the clock will be extended to six minutes. The field is expected to whittle down to the final nine players who will return on Day 3. The heads-up will see the clock reduced to 30 minutes till a champion is crowned.

A look down the memory lane shows that in October 2017, Mamouni Smain had won the Main Event after besting a field of 433 players and collected Dh 1M , (~$105,255) for his win.

‘SexyFunTimes’ Wins $1 Million GTD Championship PKO at partypoker Powerfest

Day 12 of the 2018 partypoker Powerfest turned out to be quite a phenomenal outing for the player ‘SexyFunTimes’ who not only took down the $1 Million GTD Championship PKO event for $100,930, but also bagged $136,418 in bounties, taking home a total $237,348.

Out of 198 runners that participated in the event that had a buy-in of $5,200, only a few were able to grab a share of $1,009,800 prize pool, which included Joni ‘JJouhki’ Jouhkimainen (18^th for $8,787) and Ludovic ‘Gr4vyBo4t’ Geilich (22^nd for $8,787).

Despite the massive $27,000 pay jump between 1^st and 2^nd places, there was no talk of a deal between ‘SexyFunTimes’ and eventual runner-up ‘barrm111’ when the heads-up battle started.

‘LeetRunGoot’ Ships $30K Crazy 8 at 2018 888poker XL Eclipse

The third day of the 2018 the 888poker XL Eclipse Series saw the conclusion of the XL Eclipse #6 – $30,000 Crazy 8 that had pulled in 441 entries, resulting in a total prize pool of $35,280.

‘JaNeiZZzKl4r’was the first to depart from the final table in eighth place, while ‘Lusor77’ (7th place), ‘joaobarb’ (6th place), ‘casual_win’ (5th place), ‘galan8’ (4th place) and ‘weneedit’ (4rd place) followed suit, setting up the heads-up confrontation between ‘Unclemonty12’ and ‘LeetRunGoot’.

In the end, Canada’s ‘LeetRunGoot’ emerged victorious and walked away with $6,880 for his win.

United Kingdom’s ‘EZ.PZ’ claimed the top spot in the XL Eclipse #8 – $12,000 Late Crazy 8 for $2,430.
