Macau Poker Cup 25

Indian Participation

Team India enjoyed a very successful outing at one of Asia`s most prestigious live tournament series i.e. Macau Poker Cup 25. The week seemed to have started slow with three Indian players narrowly missing the money bus in Event 17 – HK$20,000 NLH; Kunal Patni (35th), Aditya Sushant (34th) and Vikram Kumar (33rd) all missed the money by the narrowest of margins, with only the top 32 players getting paid. Only Dhaval Mudgal made it in the money at 23rd place. Dhaval Mudgal clearly was the star at the series and added two more cashes this week. Mudgal took 23rd place in Event 17 – HK$20,000 NLH for HK$40,700 and followed that up with a seventh place finish in Event 20 – HK$5,000 Knockout for HK$23,050.

Raghav Bansal, Kunal Patni, Siddharth Jain and Vikram Kumar from India had made Day 2 of the Red Dragon Main Event but barring Bansal who finished 86th for HK$28,500 (~INR 2.44 Lakhs), all the remaining three players hit the rails before the money bubble.

The record-breaking series saw two second-time winners in both the Main Event and the High Roller event. 30-year English pro Tom Alner outlasted the massive 1,145-entry field to take home the best looking trophy in the business for a second time along with HK$2.5 Million in prize money.
