Here are this week`s top stories:

Online action continued to dominate the poker scene for a second week in row, with the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Manila 2016, being the lone major tournament in the Far-East, where Alexis Lim claimed the Main Event title for P766,000. The Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (GUKPT) and the World Poker Tour (WPT) Maryland were the other two live tournaments recorded in the western part of the globe.

Nevertheless, the week was dotted by numerous other developments, both in India and overseas. Domestically, we have news of a Nikita Luther signing up with Adda52 and an NRI proposing a casino in Andhra Pradesh.

Internationally, there are reports from Amaya, which has confirmed that it is in talks for a takeover by William Hill among others. Then there is news of Partypoker signing Jackie Glazier, 888 Holdings winning an award, France deciding to open up its player pool to international liquidity and Maryland getting a sixth casino.

We also have news about an association in New Jersey trying to get sports betting legalized, 888poker tying up with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit and South Africa taking strict action to stop gambling at illegal sites.

Looking forward, players will have three big series with the APT Macau, the Deltin Poker Tour (DPT) and the Asian Championship of Poker (ACOP) coming up shortly.
