In the PokerGuru feature ‘This Week in Poker’ we bring to you the weekly round up of the biggest online scores by Indian MTT players along with the top stories from both the live and online poker circuit.

Here are this week`s top stories

It was another eventful week, but one with significant good news for poker in India. A collective sigh of relief welcomed the judgment by the Delhi High Court on April 21, when it disposed the Adda52 ‘Poker for Stakes’ case, Gaussian Network Pvt Ltd v. Monica Lakhanpal & National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Players across India will experience an upbeat poker environment with the inaugural New World of Sports Club (NWOS) poker festival kicking off the poker scene in Pune. In Kolkata, there will be a new tournament, with the Greed Championship at the newly revamped Aquarium 7 poker room, even as a Bounty event concluded at the Turn N Riva poker room.

Online has its own share of action lined up with two exclusive promotions with the Knockout Challenges ($120K GTD Weekly) at PokerStars and 888poker’s Super XL Series ($3 Million GTD). And, of course, the action continues at Spartan Poker with the Bad Beat Jackpot that still has INR 5.50 lakhs up for grabs.

The online felts were pretty dry this week, with few scores to show. Of these Dhananjaya ‘DannySharma’ Sharma takes our “PokerGuru Star of the Week” title for two cashes amounting to more than $7,000.

The past week saw the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Philippines 2016 conclude with Shravan Chabbria and Srinivas Polyshetty making the most cashes, while Dhaval Mudgal made the deepest run in the Main Event.

The Asian Championship of Poker (ACOP Platinum Series XIII) was another series that ended, after running from April 19 to 24. The HK$5,500 Main Event was won by China’s Zhi Lin for HK$258,810.

Besides the above, we also bring you news about the online legal poker status in America and the GPL reaching out to Chinese fans via television.

In our tournament round-up, we have reports from several World Poker Tour (WPT) events at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown (SHRPS) stop, as well as from the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit stop at Harrah’s Cherokee.

Additionally, online satellites to the upcoming NWOS poker festival, which will run from April 29 to May 1 will be available on Spartan Poker. Players can choose from a Mega Satellite or Step Satellites.
