In the PokerGuru feature ‘This Week in Poker’ we bring to you the weekly round up of the biggest online scores by Indian MTT players along with the top stories from both the live and online poker circuit.

Here are this week`s top stories

April is over, but the action continued unabated both domestically and internationally. An important activity that kept everyone on their toes was the DPT Colossus Super High Roller series in Goa that saw less than expected turnouts but nonetheless created quite the hype with the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle and 888poker ambassador Sofia Lovgren, both in attendance at the series. Taking top honors at the event was 28-year old Sriharsha Doddapaneni, who won the ₹200K Super High Roller for a career-best ₹28.70 Lakhs, Vivek Rughani shipped the ₹50K Warm-for ₹9.05 Lakhs, while Satguru S took down the ₹25K NLH Bounty event for ₹2.57 Lakhs.

Online sites came out with generous offerings for players this past week. PokerStars India announced a special deposit bonus of ₹1,500 on first deposit of ₹500, PokerBaazi launched a new Vegas Tournament series and cash games offering packages to Las Vegas and MadOverPoker announced the return of its popular Bankroll Challenge (BRC) 3.0 along with Daily Payoffs tournaments and Chill tournaments.

And as expected, topping MadOverPoker’s Sunday Blast Series’ April leaderboard was last week`s ‘PokerGuru Star of the Week’ - Vishal 'spartacus' Tulsyan who added ₹1 Lakh to his bankroll.

Online action too saw both new and regular players alike making scores and the most noteworthy among them came from PokerBaazi Team pro Abhisek’ AbhisekPanda’ Panda, who shipped the PokerBaazi Baazi Super Sunday ₹15 Lakhs GTD event and for this he claims our “PokerGuru Star of the Week” title.

The other big news had the Bombay High Court at Goa asking the state government to submit details of casino license cancellation process and the consequences when an operator fails to pay the license fee.

In other international news, The Stars Group inked a deal to acquire Sky Betting & Gaming for $4.7 Billion.

Rounding up the recap are tournament reports from DPT Colossus April 2018, EPT Monte Carlo and partypoker MILLIONS North America.
