India’s most prestigious poker room aboard the Deltin Royale will once again seen a change in management, barely 18 months after it was last taken over by the joint team of the India Poker Championship (IPC) – Sameer Rattonsey, Rajeev Kanjani and Amin Rozani in mid-November 2014.

Speculations report that the trio exited the poker room and that the next IPC edition was delayed due to a roadblock in negotiations. Unfortunately the talks failed and the team gave their resignation on March 31.

“We thank the players for their support and IPC will be back very soon”, said Rajeev Kanjani when PokerGuru contacted him to confirm this news.

As of now, it is unclear whether an outside operator or the Casino Deltin Royale management will manage the poker room. It is said that the room is currently being handled by Manish Adnani of Mumbai, though it is not clear in what capacity. The rumors started due to a message Adnani relayed to many players this morning,

“Bro

I am glad to share that i have joined Deltin Royale. Today was my first day @ work. I will be heading their poker vertical. Good things will happen in time and I will keep you posted. In the mean time needless to say call me when you are here !!

Thank you for your good wishes and energy.

GODBLESS.

Initiated by the joint efforts of the late Phil Sanders and Anil Gulati, the poker room began sometime in 2007 and had been taken over by the IPC team in November 2014.

The IPC team ran the room successfully resurrecting the Goa poker scene, ushering in a new era of professionally managed poker tournaments. The evidence was seen by the overflowing IPC editions, which made several records for never-before seen prize pools and entries.

In late November, 2015, the poker room was moved from Level 3 to Level 1, making it more accessible to players, besides being renamed as the Deltin Royale Poker Lounge.

So successful was the team that in March this year, the poker room was awarded by the World Records India organization in five categories, including highest entries at any Indian tournament and India’s largest and most luxurious floating casino.

In fact the IPC had reached iconic proportions in recent times and had become the ultimate poker tournament for pros and aspiring players in India. Whatever the reasons for this exit, one can only hope that the IPC team is back to give players the usual-super brand of tournaments as fast as possible.
