Pradeep Singh Wins PGT 12K Bounty Event, Raman Gujral Finishes 2nd

The second event of the PokerGuru Tour May edition saw 71 contestants putting up ₹12,000 for a shot at the PGT 12k Bounty title. ₹10,000 went directly to the prize pool and ₹2,000 was reserved as the bounty per player elimination. After 8.5 hours of Texas Hold’em tournament action it was Pradeep Singh (cover image) who came out on top and took home ₹300,000 for his first place finish, besting Event 1 victor Ramandeep Gujral in the heads-up battle.

The final hand was a classic coinflip situation: Pradeep Singh on the button opens to 22K, Ramandeep Singh Gujral makes it 65K, Pradeep announces that he is allin and Raman calls. Pradeep tables and is up against Raman’s . The flop opens , the turn was a and the river – giving Pradeep two pair Fives over Threes.

At 3:30 am the tournament played down to the final table of nine players, with the remaining seven players being paid at least ₹25,000. These were the chip counts at the beginning of the final table, with Lawrence Sanjay in pole position.

Shortstacked Manish Bajpai was the first one to be eliminated, followed quickly by Kishore M, the bubble boy of this event. Lawrence Sanjay couldn’t consolidate his chiplead and was the 7th place finisher, after a curious all-in call with . Lawrence raises 16000 from early position, Arindam Mukherjee in small blind position moves allin for over 70k chips, Ramandeep Gujral also moves allin from big blind, action is on Lawrence and he makes the call putting his tournament life at risk.

Next to go is Roshan Rodrigues who moved all-in with for a little over 4 big blinds and got called by Ramandeep holding , who spikes a four for the win.

Tournament Regular – Dhaval Mudgal, was the 5th place finisher after he moved all-in from the small blind with and Krunal Chauhan in big blind called with , which hold up. The shortstacked Krunal Chauhan is the next elimination from the tournament, moving all-in from under the gun position with 50k chips in the 4000/8000/1000 level with and finds himself to be just short of Pradeep who is holding .

Then in a blind vs blind situation, Arindam raises 20k from the small blind, Ramandeep Gujral moves allin from the big blind position and Arindam quickly makes the call tabling . Ramandeep held and rivers a straight on a board. A great series for Arindam Mukherjee having made back-to-back cashes in the 1st two events itself!

PokerGuru Team Mentor Ramandeep started with a chiplead, but as anything can happen in No-Limit Texas Hold’em, the end result of the half hour heads-up battle had Pradeep taking down the tournament and cashing in ₹3,00,000. Ramandeep won ₹165,000 for his efforts and takes on the #1 position on the 12 Lakhs PokerGuru Tour Player-of -the-Year Leaderboard. Note that as he is a PokerGuru Team Mentor, he is excluded from the end of year 12 Lakhs freeroll, alonside fellow mentors – Aditya ‘Intervention’ Agarwal and Rohit Bhalla.
