It was a blue-moon Sunday that took the poker community by storm as the biggest extravaganzas in the online poker world i.e. WCOOP came down to a thrilling finale. We are just 2 days away before a champion takes home the $1.6 Million top prize in the WCOOP-79-H: $5,200 NLHE [Main Event. The event drew 2,183 players and only 281 players made it to Day 2. Only Indians to make day 2 are Vaibhav ‘Kill_619’ Sharma and ‘Kkksss840’.

This time WCOOP also introduced a Low Main Event with $2M GTD & $250K+ for the first-place finisher. The event attracted 12,517 runners with 3,109 re-entries and four of our Indian challengers made Day 2 namely Prashant ‘rituprashant’ Bhutoria, Sanjay ‘funsukwangdu’ Taneja, ‘Shree1712’ and ‘Ikkvr’. Meanwhile, nine challengers busted in the money including ‘Big AI425’, Tarun ‘aggtarun’ Goyal, saini0023′, ‘philrounder’, ‘mahima2612’, Rajat ‘oshoswami’ Sharma, ‘nish6555’, ‘checm@te’ and Akash ‘Anarchytect1’ Shekhar.

Vaibhav ‘Kill_619’ Sharma cashed $3,510.99 for his 68th place finish in WCOOP-77-H: $1,050 NLHE [Sunday Kickoff SE], $500K GTD and Raghav ‘Rossoneri23’ Bansal finished 113th place for $2,758.51 in the event.

Amit ‘ámitshur2984’ Sur (currently at 51st place with 2,304,979 chips), Haresh ‘kavishk’ Kukreja (currently at 168th place with 607,252 chips), ‘rohan142’ (currently at 34th place with 2,758,670 chips) also made Day 2 of WCOOP-74-L: $27 NLHE, $200K GTD event.

Meanwhile, domestic sites were abuzz with action with India’s largest website Adda52’s Poker Million Tour (PMT) Main Event and PokerBaazi Super Sunday ₹15 lakhs GTD, ₹5 Lakhs GTD for first place crowning champions. PMT Main Event attracted 170 entries and 54 re-entries with ‘ft83’ emerging victorious and cashing ₹6,75,000. Baazi Super Sunday event drew 153 hopefuls and claiming the ₹5,00,000 top prize was ‘Shanni’.

WCOOP-79-H: $5,200 NLHE [Main Event], $10M GTD & $1.5M+ to first!

As expected, the biggest online poker tournament of the year attracted a massive field of 2,183 runners and at the end of day’s play only 281 players survived. The event will pay out the top 278 places meaning the bubble should burst soon after the event resumes tonight. The play for Day 2 will be manually stopped when the field is further dwindled down to nine players who will play down to a champion on the final day on Tuesday.

Leading the way at the end of Day 1 was Netherlands based ‘uknowProsky*’ with 1,683,800 in chips.

A number of Indian challengers took part in this coveted high-buy in event including India’s sole PokerStars pro Aditya ‘Adi Agarwal’ Agarwal, Raghav ‘Rossoneri23’ Bansal, Samay ‘omgsammjesus’ Parikh, Sharad ‘Keenyle’ Rao, Vaibhav ‘Kill_619’ Sharma, Sriharsha ‘indiandurr’ Doddapaneni, Tarun ‘aggtarun’ Goyal, ‘nirbadh’, ‘jayprakashj’, ‘huzaifapatel’, ‘DoJingBULLETS’, ‘kkksss840’ and ‘dhruvinkotha’.

Only two Indians managed to survive the day with Vaibhav ‘Kill_619’ Sharma (275,720) and ‘Kkksss840’ (148,490).

WCOOP-79-L [Main Event], $2M GTD & $250K+ to first!

The low category Main Event attracted a massive 12,517 entrants with an additional 3,109 re-entries that easily crushed the guarantee by creating a total prize pool of $3,125,200. The event paid out the top 2,249 places and at the end of the day, only 694 players remain in contention for Day 2 that is set to resume at 11:30 p.m. tonight.

Currently UK’s ‘DeanoSupremo’ leads the way with 2,369,841 in chips.

The event saw a number of Indian challengers and some truly shone making deep runs. Among our challengers who made it through to Day 2 include Prashant ‘rituprashant’ Bhutoria (203rd place with 663,053 chips), Sanjay ‘funsukwangdu’ Taneja (276th place with 548,487 chips), ‘Shree1712’ (408th place with 400,272 chips) and ‘Ikkvr’ (440th place with 364,402 chips).
