Macau Poker Cup (MPC) 23 Red Dragon Main Event has finally found its champion in Yue Feng Pan (cover image), who not only claimed a whopping prize purse of HK $2,108,000, but also one of Asia`s most prestigious tournament titles.

Simultaneously, in Event 13 – HK $20,000 NLH, both Dhaval Mudgal and Kunal Patni have made it to the final day with just 11 players remaining.

Today also marked the start of Day 1 of the HK $80,000 High Roller, which is a re-entry event with registrations open till the first level on Day 2.

HK $12,000 Red Dragon Main Event – Day 4

30-year old Yue Feng Pan claimed the eighth Red Dragon trophy for China, pocketing the lion’s share of HK $2,108,000. Shao Po Liu was runner-up for HK $1,239,520.

Pan, more of a cash games player, was ecstatic after the win and said that he would play more tournaments henceforth. “I feel so happy right now. I just love the competition of tournaments and being able to prove myself against all my opponents,” he stated.

Pan beat an entry-crowd of 945 that created a prize pool of HK $9,899,820.

The final table began with Pan third in the chip counts, but he began consolidating his stack within 30 minutes of play. The first elimination came in a three-way hand between Pan, Bin Ren and Tse Tsai, with Ren facing the worst and hitting the rails at 9th place.

15 minutes later, it was Huafeng Gu who got eliminated in 8th place and just 10 minutes after that, Xong Xin Liu was eliminated in 7th place.

Pan took the next elimination and it was Ming Wu, who retired at 5th place and Zhixiong Tan was busted at 4th place by Shao Liu.

Three-handed play lasted for only an hour, until Tse Tsai busted in 3rd place and heads up play began with Pan more than double in chips with 10,045,000, against Liu`s 4,100,000.

Shiu did put up a valiant fight and almost evened the counts at one point, but Pan soon regained control.

The final hand saw the flop open and Pan checked his option. Liu bet 375,000 from the button and Pan re-raised for 450,000. Liu retaliated with another raise to 1,625,000 and after a pause, Pan moved all-in with his 10 million. Liu called and the cards were on their backs.

Liu saw a flicker of hope on the turn but the river got Pan the title. Liu though disappointed with his runner-up finish, had some consolation in the HK $1,239,520 prize money.

Yue Pan won the Red Dragon title and the top prize of HK $2,108,000.
