The inaugural Deltin Poker Tournament Express (DPTX) made a booming start with the Burn N Turn Event and the festivities were carried on by the ₹10K Bounty Event, which drew in 48 entries. Hosted at the gorgeous Casino Deltin Denzong in Hotel Denzong Residency, the fast-paced event had a ₹10,000 buy-in, with ₹5,000 going into the prize pool, while the remaining ₹5,000 went into the bounty prize.

Several notables joined the action including Burn N Turn winner Vivek Anand Baskey, Ankit Takle, Shivam Shukla, Karan Sawhney, Manish Lakhotia and Firoz Khan. With only the top six places receiving payouts, the race to finish in the money was intense and it was Gurgaon based player Prashant Malik (cover image) who outlasted the competitive field to claim the trophy and the top prize of ₹90,000.

Malik entered the final table with a dominant lead holding 121,000 chips and played aggressively, resulting in the eliminations of Khan, Lakhotia and runner up finisher Rajiv Gupta, who banked ₹53,000.

Thereafter, Whale bet 10,000 and big blind called. The river brought card 3 and Whale checked, while big blind bet 20,000. Whale called and revealed card 3card 2 against big blind’s card 2card 3. The runout card 3card 1card 3card 3card 3 missed both players and Malik’s high pair eliminated Khan in seventh place on the money bubble.

Down to six-handed play, the remaining players were all assured a min-cash of ₹14,000. Ritesh Tripathi went on to become the first player to finish in the money when he moved all-in from middle position with card 3card 1 and received a call from Lakhotia in the small blind holding card 1card 3. With the board running card 3card 2card 3card 3card 3, Lakhotia’s pocket rockets ousted Tripathi in sixth place.

Soon thereafter, Shivam Shukla pitted his card 1card 3 against Lakhotia’s card 2card 1. The community cards spread out card 3card 3card 1card 3card 2 and Lakhotia picked up a pair of eights on the board, while Shukla bounced off in fifth place.

With four players left, Karan Sawhney moved all-in for 41,000 with card 3card 3 from the hijack. The player in small blind called with card 2card 3. The board ran card 3card 1card 3card 3card 1 and small blind’s ace-jack defeated Sawhney, ending his run in fourth place.

Finishing in third place was Manish Lakhotia. Lakhotia pushed all-in from small blind. Malik called, and both players tabled their cards.

The rundown card 3card 3card 1card 3card 1 gave Malik a top pair of kings, resulting in Lakhotia’s exit in third place.

Short-stacked Rajiv Gupta joined Prashant Malik in the heads-up play and on the final hand, Gupta shoved all-in with queen-two against Malik’s card 2card 2. Both players flopped a pair of queens with the dealer bringing the card 2card 3card 3 on the flop. The remaining two streets brought card 2 and card 3 which failed to help either player. However, Malik’s six kicker overpowered Gupta’s hand and the former went on to win the DPT trophy and first-place prize money of ₹90,000.
