Baadshah Gaming Live Tournament: Vidwath Shetty Wins ₹15K Bounty Event For ₹1.60 Lakhs After 3-Way Deal

The second side event at the Baadshah Gaming Live Tournament Series i.e. ₹10K + ₹5K Bounty event registered 68 entries, a decent turnout given the fact that Day 1B of the Main Event was running at the same time as this event. After a three-way deal between Vidwath Shetty (cover image), Devesh Thapar and Manoj Pentakota, it was Shetty who eventually lifted the trophy, taking home the top prize of ₹1.60 Lakhs.

Without a doubt the most exciting event on the schedule, the bounty event has always been a crowd popular especially at domestic stops. 68 players ponied up the ₹15K buy-in generating a prize pool of ₹6,80,000 that was to be shared among the top seven finishers with players collecting a further ₹5K bounty for every elimination.

Once the final payouts were announced, the remaining players decided to take out ₹5k each from top three prizes to secure the bubble (8th place finisher).

Many notables including Abhinav Iyer, Siddarth Singhvi, Vivek Rughani, Shuchi Chamaria, Kunal Patni, Sriharsha Doddapaneni, Eka Vedantham and Jaydeep Dawer fell short of the money.

Romit Advani went out on the final table bubble at ninth place. Manoj Pentakota opened UTG with pocket queens and Romit Advani announced all-in on button with Ax Kx. The board ran Ax Kx Jx 5x 10x and Pentakota picked up the pot to eliminate Advani in ninth place to set up the official eight-handed final table.

Parminder Randhava was the first one out and was eliminated by Young Gun Devesh Thapar. Thapar jammed with and Randhava called with a better putting his tournament life on the line. The board ran and Devesh hit a straight to knock out Randhava in eight place. Randhava collected ₹15K as bubble insurance.

PokerBaazi Team pro Jasven Saigal was the next player to bust after he jammed for 128,000 with and Manoj Pentakota from the big blind called tabling . The board ran and Saigal exited the event in seventh place.

Bibek Karki was the next one out after he limped, Pentakota 3-bet and Karki shoved with . Pentakota called with . The community cards fell and Pentakota took down the hand to rail Karki in sixth place.

Ashish Ahuja was going strong in the event but lost a huge pot to be left crippled with just 2 big blinds and took fifth place.

Pentakota then scalped his third victim on the final table with Rahul Rohatgi falling in fourth place. Action saw Rohatgi shoving with and Pentakota called with . The board ran and Rohatgi hit the rail to leave the game three-handed.

The three finalists then agreed to a deal locking up ₹1.5 Lakhs each, with ₹10,000 and the title kept in play for the eventual champion.

Manoj Pentakota was the frontrunner to pick up the title but his dream run ended in third place. It all came crashing down in a three way all-in showdown, where Vidwath Shetty’s were up against Devesh Thapar’s and Pentakota’s . The board spread out and Thapar collected the main pot and Shetty collected the side pot with Pentakota bowing out in third place.

The heads-up contest saw Young Gun Devesh Thapar and Vidwath Shetty battling it out for the title and the final hand saw Thapar shoving with . Shetty, who had his opponent covered called with and rivered a straight on the rundown to win the title!
