For any international poker player on a maiden trip to India, a visit to Goa is an absolute must. Australia`s Bobby Zhang (cover image) too had holiday plans on his mind when he landed in Goa last week, but a sudden urge to play poker got him the biggest title at the Baadshah Gaming Live Tournament series April Edition with Zhang winning the ₹30K Main Event for a cool  ₹17 Lakhs.

With this win, Zhang picked up his seventh live title crossing $650,000 in career cashes.

By far the biggest and most well received event on the schedule, the Baadshah Gaming Live April’18 Main Event attracted a very impressive 187 entries across the two starting flights that generated a massive ₹56 Lakhs in prize money. The top 18 places were to be paid and leading the 70 survivors on the final day was Day 1B chip leader Pavan Jain with a stack of 280,200. Zhang was among the top stacks coming into the final day with 122,200 and pulled ahead to start the final table with a commanding chip lead.

Zhang had to ward off some stiff competition along the way and was in medical discomfort all through the event with an upset stomach, but that did not deter the Australian pro who put up a splendid performance to win the title pretty convincingly at the end. He did come down in chips for a brief period but by the time four-handed play was under play, Zhang had accumulated over half the chips in play and cruised through to an easy victory eventually.

The event saw the best tournament pros in the country making an appearance but one name stood out. Team PokerStars pro Aditya Agarwal who recently finished runner-up at the APPT Macau Main Event for a career-best ₹1.57 Crores has been one name missing at domestic stops this past year and incidentally it was none other than his good friend and eventual champion Bobby Zhang who busted Agarwal late on Day 1B. Agarwal however managed to book a profit on the trip by finishing fifth in the 75K High Roller for ₹2.75 Lakhs.

With the top 18 places assured a payday, the money bubble fell on Arzoo Jiwani who busted 19th after jammed with card 3card 2. Manoj Pentakota called off with card 1card 3 and the rundown card 1card 3card 1card 3card 3 brought the remaining players into the money.

Several big names fell before the final table including, Manoj Pentakota (11th place for ₹60,000), Rakesh Sharma (12th place for ₹60,000), Vidwath Shetty (13th place for ₹60,000), Rajat Sharma (14th place for ₹60,000), Anurag Shrivastava (15th place for ₹50,000), Shashank Jain (16th place for ₹50,000), Sunny Grrewal (17th place for ₹50,000) and Meherzad Munsaf (18th place 50,000).

The nine-handed final table was formed after the elimination of Vaibhav Shah in 10th place.
