Now on its second last day, the Asian Poker Tour Philippines III is gearing up for a grand finale. The $1,650 Main Event is down to the final eight players with Indian-origin player Rajesh Jiandoni making it through to the final table albeit with a short stack of 475K. Norway`s Markus Garberg is leading the race with 2.435M in chips.

It was a thrilling time for the Indian rail back home with two Indians – Dhaval Mudgal and Abhishek Jalan making the final table in Event 14 – $110 MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo. The entire poker community was cheering for the two Indian challengers on the APT LIVE stream and were in for a treat with Mudgal finally getting the monkey off his back with a win, netting $2,970 (~₹2 Lakhs). Jalan made a third place finish and as fate would have it, was eliminated by fellow countryman and eventual champion Dhaval Mudgal.

There is still a lot of poker left to be seen at the series with three side events on tap today alongside the final table of the Main Event. As we write this, India`s Kunal Patni is on the final table of Event 13 – $550 Monster Stack!

$1,650 Main Event Day 3

From a start-of-day field of 39 runners, the field was whittled down to a final table of eight players with Norway`s Markus Gasberg forging ahead with an overwhelming lead bagging 2.435M in chips.

Singapore’s Feng Zhao enters the final table today second in chips with a stack of 1.745 M and is the only player among the eight finalists to have won an APT Main Event title (he won the title at APT Philippines 2014). Rounding up the top three stacks is Korea’s In Chul Sin with 1.22M, an APT regular who is making his first APT Main Event final table appearance.

Event 13 – $550 Monster Stack Day 1

A total of 110 players registered for the event with 19 players making Day 2. Singapore`s Alex Lee bagged a “monstrous” stack of 509K and will start Day 2 on top of the chip counts. India`s Kunal Patni made Day 2 in the event and even as we write this, he has made it to the final table!

Event 14: $110 MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo

The MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo saw 120 total entries creating a prize pool of $11,640. The top 18 players cashed a piece of the prize pool with India`s Dhaval Mudgal banking the top prize of $2,970.

Three-way action saw Regie Ann Delos Reyes dominating the action but Abhishek Jalan kept winning several big pots from her to make her one of the shorter stacks. Unfortunately it turned out to be fellow countryman and good friend Dhaval Mudgal who eliminated Jalan in third place.

The final hand came soon thereafter. Mudgal moved allin on the flop and Delos Reyes called at the risk of her tournament life. Mudgal tabled for middle pair and Delos Reyes showed for the nut flush draw. The turn and river blanked out and just like that Mudgal won the trophy and the $2,970 top prize!
