APT Asian Series Manila 2015: Pawan Bansal Takes 2nd in Event 9, Raghav Bansal Finishes 3rd in Chips On Day 1C of Main Event

As the APT Asian Poker Series Manila 2015 continues it’s onwards march, Team India too, keeps the flag flying high. This time it is Pawan Bansal (cover image) who makes a splendid runner-up finish in Event 9 – PHP 11,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi.

The Main Event completed Day 1C, which saw Raghav Bansal placed comfortably in 3rd place among the top 10 chip counts. Day 2 is currently on and a number of our Indian challengers are in the fray.

Besides Day 2 of the Main Event, Monday will also mark the start of two more events, the PHP 19,800 NLHE2 at 3 pm and the PHP 5,500 WeLoveSport Deep Stack Turbo at 7 pm.

 

APT Manila PHP 50,000 Main Event – Day 1C

The largest number of 142 entries registered on Day 1C and only 84 made it to Day 2. Singapore`s Yah Loon and Indonesian Charles Lesmana bagged the top 2 stacks with 89,850 and 77,700 in chips respectively.

Two Indian`s Raghav Bansal and Dhaval Mudgal played Day 1C of the Main Event. Bansal cracked the top ten in chips at the end of play and bagged the third highest stack with 75,425 chips in play.

Dhaval was not so lucky and busted early on, tweeting the progress:

Main Event Day 2

Day 2 of the Main Event is currently underway. With 52 players from Day 1A and 46 survivors from Day 1B, joining the 84 runners from Day 1C, there will be 184 players fighting to make it to the top 36, who will be in the money. The ultimate champion of course, will get the lion’s share of PHP 3,758,200, from the created prize pool of PHP 15,215,400. The min-cash will be PHP 106,500.

Team India will be represented by Raghav Bansal, who makes it from Day 1B. Kunal Patni, Amit Ajwani, Paawan Bansal and Srinivas Polishetty, all who made it through Day 1A will be the others joining him.

 

Event 8 – No Limit Hold’em 1

Pavel Plotnikov of Lithuania was the winner of Event 8, taking home the top prize of PHP 388,300, after a heads up deal.

Kunal Patni made a 4th place finish for PHP 128,300. The event had 146 runners and the top 18 players made the money.

 

Event 9 – Pot Limit Omaha Hi

There were 84 contenders for the title in PHP 11,000 Event 9. The ultimate champion was American player Joshua De Vera Cordova, who collected PHP 207,300, after a deal between him and runner-up Paawan Bansal of India, who took home PHP 150,000.

Event 10 – MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo

The PHP 5,500 Event 10 saw Philippines player Manuel Mascunana claim the title for PHP 198,100.

The event had 160 entries and only the top 18 players made the money.
